TRANSCRIPT

The NEWEA Small Community Committee is hosting

a specialty conference addressing the challenges

small communities are facing with new nitrogen and

phosphorous removal requirements. Speakers will focus

on the drivers for lower permit limits, low cost strategies to

achieve nutrient reduction, and ways to finance significant

capital upgrades. Information will be presented from a

diverse group of speakers from watershed advocacy

groups, to regional planners and consultants. Following

a series of presentations in the morning participants

are invited to participate in a boat tour of Narragansett

Bay after lunch which will highlight recent water quality

improvements and future work.
