1944 and 2020

Company C, 3110th Signal Service Battalion, Army Service Forces landed on Utah Beach on July 25, 1944. On August 18, Detachment 1, Company C was deployed to Cherbourg. Among the members of Detachment 1 was Private Felix A. Cizewski, my late father. My late father was in the company’s Open Wire Repair Section with pole and wire responsibilities including construction and maintenance. On September 15, members of Company A were Detached to Company A, 810th Signal Service Battalion. On the LEFT of photos my father took pictures of members of Detachment 1, Company C on Rue Président Loube. On the RIGHT are photos Alexis Holley arranged to be taken of the same sites in 2020.
