Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
From Fr. PaulFrom Fr. PaulFrom Fr. PaulFrom Fr. Paul
Dear Friends,
This is Commitment Weekend for our Increased Offertory Campaign. Thank you for considering whether you are able to increase your weekly offertory giving and do so more consistently. Special thanks to the many volunteers who have helped prepare the mailings or made phone calls. The commitment forms will be collected during Mass - if you forgot your form at home there will be extras in the church.
After celebrating Halloween, "All Hallows' Eve," join us in celebrating the holy day, All Saints' Day on November 1. Please see the schedule below; there are two evening Masses for those who cannot attend during the day. Let us ask for the intercession of all the saints, that we too may join in their company forever in the presence of our Lord.
Finally, the month of November is the month that we pray more intensely for those who have died. See the schedule for the Mass of Remembrance at each parish next weekend. The Lord has made many promises of eternal life; let us pray for our loved ones who have gone before us, that He may welcome them to their eternal rest.
Fr. Paul

Friends of Francis Gift Card Donation Requests
Thanksgiving time is coming and once again we are looking for supermarket gift cards. $10.00 increments would be very nice. There is a mailbox at the back of St. Francis of Assisi church where you can drop off donations. As always we thank you for your continued support. God Bless all who answer our request.
Jerri for Friends of Francis
Please remember the following people who are in need of prayers:
Theresa O’Brien Carew, Sr. Waltrude Dennis CSJ, Pasqualina DeSimone, Clara Mancino, Jeffrey Morgan, Torbert Prior, Joel Rivera, Donald & Ronald Sisson, Rob Stengel, Donna Trabucco, Pauline Vojtas & Denise Zero
Christmas Flower Remembrances
In an effort to become more efficient and more lovingly honor the memory of your loved ones this Christmas, the list of names of those for whom flower donations are made will not be published in the Christmas season bulletins. Instead, we will place every Christmas Flower envelope received in a basket near the altar and all your loved ones will be prayerfully remembered as the Special Intention and in the Prayers of the Faithful at our Christmas Day Masses. We are grateful for your generosity and understanding.
“In Loving Memory”
Mass of Remembrance Our annual Mass of Remembrance, at which we will honor the memory of all those buried from our parishes this past year, from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017, will be celebrated on Saturday, November 4th at 4pm at St. Francis of Assisi and Sunday, November 5th at noon at St. Joseph.
Included in the liturgy will be a remembrance ceremony, during which one member of each family will be invited to come forward and receive a rose to place on the altar in memory of his or her loved one. There will be a reception immediately following the Mass in the Social Center Cafeteria at St. Joseph and at the Parish Center Dining Hall at St. Francis of Assisi. All are cordially invited to attend.

Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Increased Offertory Campaign: COMMITMENT WEEKEND!!
Today is the day! All parishioners are asked to make a commitment to the Increased Offertory Campaign. This is an important program for our parishes of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Joseph. Our goal of increasing our regular giving by 20% will go a long way to provide financial stability so we can grow our faith formation and outreach programs and address deferred maintenance projects. Please give with a generous, sacrificial heart.
We encourage you to please consider enrolling in our On-line Giving program to make your offertory contributions. It’s safe, easy and convenient! And, it’s easily accessible from our website www.medfordcollaborative.org.
With all parishioners involved in this program we can build a strong community which can serve many generations to come.
Deuteronomy 16:10, 16-17 “ The measure of your own free will offering shall be in proportion to the
blessing the Lord, your God, has bestowed on you…No one shall appear before the Lord empty handed, but each of you with as much as he can give, in proportion to the blessings which the Lord, your God, has
bestowed on you.”
GRAND ANNUAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE
Thank you to all who have generously contributed toward our Grand Annual Campaign! As Father Paul mentioned in his appeal letter, this collection is critical to maintaining the financial stability of our parishes. Our Weekly Offertory alone doesn’t cover all our operating expenses, so our Grand Annual collection is very helpful. If you have yet to contribute, we ask for your prayerful consideration and generosity.
The campaign is off to a great start! In the first two weeks, each parish has already raised over 25% of the goal.
