unemployed and for adults seeking better
ICT employability.
• Introduction to Packet Tracer and
Networking Essentials have seen a
very high increase.

Total students formal education Belgium
• In Belgium nearly 1.5 million persons participate in secondary school, higher education or adult training
programs. Non-formal education, e.g. training programs for the unemployed, are important in Belgium,
making up about 20% of the Netacad student population in Belgium.
• As a result of the low number of enrolments in IT & Technology programs, the total expected population
interested in the Cisco Academy Curriculum is inferred to be between 15 000 and 20 000 students in
higher and secondary education.
• National campaigns (e.g. Agoria) are happening in order to raise the interest of young people in Tech &
IT. The number of interested persons can possibly be doubled if vocational adult training performs well,
so that we could reach 40 to 50.000 interested persons.

Plan 2018-2022
• The plan is to grow the number of Cisco Netacad students in Belgium by 1000
student participants every year.
• The Lighthouse Pilot in Brussels will make an effort to grow the interest in ICT
education of 18 year olds throughout the country.
• Secondary schools are gradually being involved in Cisco Netacad courses
relevant for 16-18 year olds.
• The ICT reskilling of adults in Belgium is already doing great work everywhere in
the country with suitable programs.
Market analysis FY18 – Region distribution
In the Wallonia region there is room for
growth of the Academy program across
the following target groups:
• Higher Education Institutions
• Adult Pro education
• Secondary education
