“Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, re-store such a one in a spirit of gentle-ness… (Gal 6:1a).”

So what does it mean to be spiritual? In Paul’s list of the evidence of spirituality, Paul lists love first (Gal 5:22). Is it any wonder? John declared, “God is love (1 John 4:8).” That is why Paul said that with-out love, everything we do is meaningless (1 Cor 13:1-3). So what is love? Much of the world has fallen for Hollywood's definition of love. But that is not “Christian” love. It is not that feeling you get when you hold the hand of your sweetheart, as nice as that is. It is something that goes way beyond that. It is relentless and loyal. Paul defines agape in 1 Corinthians 13.

“ Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suf-fered, does not rejoice in unrighteous-ness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails (1 Cor 13:4-8a).”

Is it any wonder that Paul says that those who are spiritual are to restore those who are in sin? An impatient, unkind, jeal-ous, bragging, arrogant, unbecoming, self-ish, easily provoked, grudge bearing person

who seems to get some sort of per-verse pleasure from someone messing up would not be the one to go and restore one who has been overtaken by sin. A great example of this principle in action comes from Matthew 9:10ff. There, Jesus was seen rubbing shoulders with some pretty undesirable people. The re-ligious leaders did not think this was appropriate for one who was supposed to be a rabbi. Jesus re-plied, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire compassion, and not sacrifice,' for I did not come to call the right-eous, but sinners (Matt 9:12-13)." Look at Paul’s definition of love, and contemplate how Jesus demonstrated the spiritual quality of love here. Then pray that God help us to increase the same quali-ties in us.

are faithful. We need to realize what we have when we live for the Lord. I hope these can encourage you to get back to Christ and don’t say I’ll do it tomorrow. Start today, it will be worth it. Have a blessed and great day! Todd

After taking a couple days off from the gym and my diet, it was hard to get back in the routine again. One day turned to two and all the way up to 4 days. Many are thinking, Todd four days isn’t going to kill you, but it led me to thinking if I continued the same path what would have happen. I just need to suck it up and as the alarm went off at 3:45am get out of bed. Do we sometimes need to do that with our spiritual life also, get back on the road toward God again? Here are a couple things I hope will get you back on that road if you need to. Remember the love...Revelation 2:5—the church at Ephesus left their first love. Go back and remember why we chose to become a Christian, why we chose to become an Elder, why we chose to become a Deacon, and why we became a Minister (whatever the case may be).

Re-identify with Christ...I Peter 4:12-14—when you go through difficult times, don’t be shocked. When we suf-fer, we rely on Christ. When challenged, be thankful we are close to Christ and He is there for each of us! Take a break...Every now and then we need to stop and take a break, 7 days into Creation, God even took a break. Mark 6:31 —Jesus tells his disciples to rest.

Look at our focus…We sometimes are critical. Let’s focus on the mission in front of us, not the things of the past. Fellowship with other Christians. Christians need Christians in their life! We need a Barnabas in our life, someone that can connect with us and encourage us. We need a Timothy in our life-someone who will be behind us. Realize what you have…. Our needs are always met if we follow Christ and
