The sponsors announce a one-day conference onBlacks in New Netherland and Colonial New Yorkto be held on February 18th at the Cultural Edu­cation Center of the Empire State Plaza. The twosessions of the conference will explore variousaspects of the Black experience in North Americaunder the Dutch of New Netherland and theEnglish of the province of New York. The fivepapers will present the results of recent researchon Black slaves and freedmen in the MiddleColonies during the 17th and 18th centuries.
