Program Summary• Supports metropolitan/multi-jurisdictional
planning efforts to integrate housing, land use, economic & workforce development.
• Seeks partnerships that translate the Livability Principles into strategies for cross-cutting sustainable development.
• Grantees must develop and/or implement a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development (RPSD)
• Awards based on population with a max of $5M

Preferred Sustainability Status
• What? Eligibility for bonus points on grants, technical assistance & capacity building opportunities.
• Why? All Regional Planning Grant awardees are eligible, as well as certain regions who scored highly, but were not funded.
• Who? Consortium members & other regional applicants are eligible for points in our region.
Preferred Sustainability Status
• How? Applicants can receive bonus points through three simple steps.1. An Applicant for a program offering PSS bonus points
contacts BMC for certification.1. Does project further the purposes of our RPSD?2. Do the proposed activities reflect the Livability Principles?3. Is applicant committed to an on-going relationship with our region?
2. BMC fills out certification form.3. Applicant must include form in their application.
If BMC seeks certification, our form is filled out by HUD regional administrator.
