The conceptual label Hannah Sanderson embodies extreme boldness, creative thinking with daring attributes and dark aesthetics. This fearless ideology of incorporating futuristic and industrial elements, whilst being unrestrained by convention is key to the ethos of the label. Pushing boundaries and encompassing new technologies, which results in beautiful three-dimen-sional designs.

Inspired by a combination of geometrically engineered lines and a mutilated distortion of ar-chitectural structures create contemporary and compelling shapes. Optimal choice of fabrics and construction processes are important in realising these sculptural designs. Repetitive and articulated layering echoes the idea of movement, deconstructing and transforming the me-chanics of the body.

Project 949 is inspired by the catastrophic explosion, which sank a manned Russia submarine, and the resulting rescue mission. Drama of exaggerated proportions inspired by the diving suits achieves a dramatic body shape. The colour palette reflects the copper rusting submarine and dark hues of greys and blacks of this disturbing event. Unusual shapes, dimensions and frag-mentation reflected in laser cut and radical construction.

Textures interplay from metals and leather to luxurious silks and grey crushed twills inter-woven with metal threads. Angular and hard elements create armoured silhouettes portray-ing power and protection. Chemistry between the materials in these garments are central to Project 949.
