Bespoke turnkey packages

“We have always made it our business to ensure we are totally proficient in welding processes. Automation, a field in which Polysoude has been active for over 50 years, is the next logical step.”

Our approach For over 50 years, Polysoude has provided its customers with the benefit of its expertise in automated welding with TIG Cold Wire, TIG Hot Wire and PLASMA methods.

This long track record has enabled us to develop and enhance a range of “generic and modular tools” which we use for all mechanical and electronic parameters which have to be considered.

It is the welding process that determines the characteristics of the “tool” for each application, thus ensuring optimum implementation. Regardless of whether you need an orbital installation (the electrode travels around the workpiece) or an automated installation (the electrode is fixed and the workpiece is rotated), Polysoude will offer you the best advice.

Key terms Every industry has different criteria when it comes to welding.

Some prefer manufacturing throughput, full traceability of welding parameters and data integration through their network. This is generally the case for the assembly of high value-added small and medium size workpieces.

Other applications, on the other hand, such as “narrow gap” welding of heavy wall thicknesses, (in power plant construction, for example), require the equipment to be reliable at all times and a total understanding of the welding process in difficult environmental conditions. The slightest defect on any unique high-cost workpiece can have major consequences.

Advantages Digital control enables continuous

perfect management of heat input and

weld penetration

We have high performance power

sources covering an extensive range of

welding current forms and characteristics

We control the trajectory of the welding

Butt welding up to a thickness of about 3 mm without filler wire. Use of Cold or Hot Wire in the case of thicker walled tube with end preparations, whether “standard” or “narrow gap”, up to a depth of 400 mm. With Hot Wire, as in the case of weld cladding, deposits exceed 1.5 kg/hour and can rise to 4.0 kg/hour.

Polysoude Power Sources

Polysoude power sources, with digital

weld controller, enable all the welding

parameters for each weld to be stored.

Passive and active monitoring of actual

values throughout the welding cycle is

also possible.

This is the core of the installation: the

welding torch is fully managed by the

multi-axis power source, which controls

all the peripherals: column & boom,

turntable, motorised linear slide, wire

feeders, etc.

Your turnkey installationPolysoude’s turnkey solutions are ready to go.

They comprise of: Technical advice, Engineering and manufacture of equipment, Development of welding procedures, Other associated services.

A Polysoude project manager will support you throughout your project, from drawing up the specification, through the tender stage and right up to the start of production.

Soft plasma or keyhole with or without filler wire Average weld speed: 500 - 800 mm/min. Excellent results for thicknesses of between 0.5 - 8 mm. Higher thicknesses are possible, depending on the application. No need to change electrode during the production cycle. No risk of non-ignition due to the presence of the pilot arc. The Soft plasma is a variant for thicknesses of less than 3.5 mm combining the benefits of the TIG and Plasma process.

Adapting to all your applications !

Guidance and technical support A welding application specialist in your area will advise you on the welding process and appropriate equipment for your application.

Commissioning / TrainingA complete training program will enable you to start using the equipment immediately and in the best way possible.

Maintenance / RepairMaintenance and repair operations can be carried out at the Polysoude plant as well as on site by our service network.

Rental serviceIncrease the flexibility of your production! A large range of equipment is available for rental from our hire fleet.
