Felipe Pomar
1965 Surf World ChampionFelipe Pomar's Interest in
health and fitness goes back over half a
century.
After 18 years of study Felipe decided to
convert his calling into his business. By
then he had obtained his Health Coach
Certification and a world of knowledge
regarding Health and Life Extension.
Today with 73 years on this planet Felipe
is still enjoying the thrill and adventure
found in riding Hawaii's big surf.
The teachings/legacy of:
Paul Bragg
Jack Lalanne
Dorian Pascowitz
Woody Brown
Carlos Dogny
Lessons from the blue zones
Felipe is working to share his possitive message with the world:
"YOU CAN STAY YOUNGER.... LONGER.... MUCH LONGER"
Felipe Pomar is the World’s first Big Wave Surfing Champion (1965 ISF-ISA) and he wants to help you
achieve the healthy lifestyle you desire.
In the early 1960's Felipe developed a friendship with two extraordinary individuals.
The first was the Father of Peruvian surfing Carlos Dogny who methodically cultivated his health, practiced
yoga, and surfed well into his eighties.
The second was the self-proclaimed first Life Extension Specialist, Paul Brag who led exercise classes, ran
and surfed “daily" into his late nineties.
From these individuals Felipe learned the value of building health and developing fitness.
Following the practices of Dogny and Bragg served Felipe well as he committed himself to becoming the
first World Surfing Champion (ISF-ISA) and according to "The Encyclopedia of Surfing ": "one of the top big
wave performers of the 1960's."
Although he followed his training practices diligently upon reaching 50 Felipe was surprised when faced with
numerous physical challenges including a hernia and two shoulder surgeries each of which kept him out of the
water for 6 months. (his Doctor advised him to stop surfing) .Missing the adventures and well-being generated
by riding waves he realized the true value of health, proper physical exercise and the need to venture beyond
what western medicine could offer at that time.
Felipe then made a commitment to devote his remaining years to learning all he could about health and the
evolving science of Anti-Aging wellness programs in order to maintain the lifestyle of a big wave Surfer for
himself and others.
On his quest to find the answers to greater physical longevity Felipe travelled to the so called Blue Zones of
the world (places where people live in good health to and beyond 100) and studied and interviewed
extraordinary individuals with special knowledge about health and fitness.
Applying this vast knowledge on himself first Felipe was astounded to find that in spite of having spent close to
70 years on this planet he was able to surf better than when he was in his 50's (20 years earlier) and still able
to do most of the things he did in his 20's with ease, comfort, and without pain.
Finding that contemporary friends were unwilling to believe his renewed youthfulness he announced to the
world that he would prove the power of his Anti-Aging strategies by repeating a 6 mile Paddleboard race that
he had won 48 years earlier (1968) while attempting to improve on his winning time (set 48 years before in
1968)
Felipe then announced his intent to the Surfing and competitive Paddling community and got the Peruvian
Surfing Federation (FENTA) to monitor his paddle and register the time.
The result was a surprise, practically a shock, to everybody but Felipe.
In 1968 Felipe won the 6 mile paddleboard race (called Herradura-Waikiki) held during the Peru International
Surfing championships with a time of 46 minutes.
In 2013 the same Felipe Pomar (then 70 years young) paddled the exact same course ( exact same distance)
with a time of 44 minutes and 9 seconds (bettering his winning time set 48 years earlier by almost 2 minutes).
That feat, probably never before considered by people of his age, made friends and foes sit up and listen to
what he had learned about restoring youthful vitality to an aging body.
Felipe’s message is getting out into the world and Felipe he has been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and the
Discovery Channel as well as being interviewed on countless TV shows, radio and magazines internationally.
Today with 73 years on this planet Felipe is still enjoying the thrill and adventure found in riding Hawaii's big
surf.
You can normally find him in the ocean riding waves or on land teaching his proven health extension
strategies.
His new and clearly stated goal is: being well and surfing ........till 100!
