The Ballina WhalersMonday 14th April
The Ballina Whalers are Pete Truin, Jamie Doe and Sam Brookes — three musical barnacles clinging to the creaking hull of a musical tradition stretching back hundreds of years. Using their voices they explore ballads, shanties and seafaring songs that tell tales of whaling, lost loves and hardship out at sea.
The Sugar KingsMonday 7th April
Driven by the spirit of 1950’s Cuba, The Sugar Kings present vocal harmonies from the salons of Havana to the rhythms of the Cuban countryside. Join Flavio and his band for some of the sweetest sounds around town.
April 2014As spring takes a firm hold we bring you a lively season of performers to help you shake off the last of those winter blues and truly lift your spirits. We begin with a real bang with some fiery Flamenco to set the scene and then strum, pluck, sing, swing and samba our way through the season with a range of performances and events to inspire and captivate you. So come along, bring your lunch and watch and enjoy some truly world class performers in the unique setting of Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals.

Wandering Hands
Cutting loose from the tangle of wires and amps of a regular covers band, Wandering Hands are a talented, energetic trio who bound around between performing crowd pleasing versions of hits. Their infectious enthusiasm mixed with a vast repertoire is guaranteed to give an electrifying atmosphere and unmatched feeling of spontaneity.
Duke Ellington’s Birthday / International Dance Day
Classically trained Soprano, Natalie joined Classic BRIT Award winners BLAKE at the end of their 2012 UK tour. She has performed several times at Wembley Stadium to sold-out crowds of over 85,000 — and most recently for England at the Rugby League World Cup, where she sang the National Anthem.

Our on-going collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music continues with a programme of works given by three of their highly talented students. The Carapina Trio formed in 2011 and are growing in both stature and repertoire. Today’s concert will include pieces by Massenet, Saint Saens and Bartok.
Singer and songwriter Kevin Barber writes about loss, regret, hope and eternity. He is a story teller who crosses many musical boundaries as he performs and amuses his audiences with beautifully crafted songs and anecdotes on life. Kevin’s guitar picking is interwoven with the sensitive harmonica and mandolin playing of Eddie Armer.

The London Essentials
The Essentials are a collective of five nomadic musicians, cosmically united in London in 2010 by their irrepressible calling to entertain the masses. Performing completely acoustically, the band require no amplification or stage, preferring instead to mingle with their audience — engaging, serenading, flattering, surprising, embarrassing and seducing their listeners as they go.
