ANSI Committee on Education (COE) - Overview

• The ANSI Committee on Education oversees all ANSI initiatives related to standards and conformity assessment education and outreach

• Goal is to promote greater awareness of standards in education

• Committee meets twice a year in person

COE Mission

• Support education-related aspects of U.S. Standards Strategy

• Encourage university-based standards education & develop long-term strategy for university faculty outreach

• Raise awareness among university faculty

• Develop materials to integrate into coursework

• Provide strategic direction on education curriculum

• Identify target audiences and learning objectives

• Oversee web-based and e-learning training initiatives

• Identify funding mechanisms to support education initiatives

educational content to a broad audience. Also offers a database of standards education resources provided by members of academic institutions.

• 797 students have taken “Why Standards Matter”

• 306 students have taken “US Standards System – Today and Tomorrow”
