Parrot Render
For my first CGI Animation, I was ask to do a Bird like Animation.
I consider trying Waddlesworth, the Parrot from; “102 Dalmatians”, but since I have more info on
her colours, the texture that I am to apply to my Parrot would be that of Spot from; “101 Dalmatians
The Series”.
When I first try to place the Texture, in the Animation, it was slightly too large for the model, but I
thankfully learn on the Size adjusting, which help Spot to line up more in a Body Shape, and get a
pretty good looking Video, for an early CGI Film.
Howl Noon
For my second Animation, being a Western Theme, I take a look at a Number of Western
Animations, which there may be.
Cases like; Thunderbolt in; “101 Dalmatians”, The Sag Of Windwagon Smith and even Back To The
Future III, which in itself is a Homage to Western Films.
I also read in Panto’s that, while a Hero may enter from the right side of the stage, the Antagonist
always comes on from the Left side of the Stage.
So, one may notice, when they watch the film, the Cowboy Protagonist is always on the right side of
the screen, and the Antagonist is always on the left side of the screen. This really helps with
continuity, in the Animation.
Though, there was a strange glitch, when trying to render, where the guns with the blast effect
didn’t’ have their visibility turn off, even though they were set to do so.
I think this reason, this happen, was cause of how I place them in the scene, cutting them in Key
Frames, than using the Visibility setting. I was able to fix this from doing multiple renders from when
the model’s double appears, and that seem to work, and I shall remember the Visibility, in future
Animations.
There are various models, which I built myself, in the Animation, such as the Buildings, The Silo, the
Horse and the Wagon.
While the Buildings themselves are normal colours on a Lambert, the Silo, the Horse and the Wagon
have textures, of my design on them.
There are some issues, on the Silo though, as some of the edges and faces blend in to the Purple,
when they’re should be in the Scarlett areas.
This is likely an issue, when you use multiple objects for one scene, than trying to do the Tower from
one shape, which I am learning to do, across this year.
One scene, I really like, is one that was unintentional.
Just as the Antagonist is about to shoot, the Protagonist notices them, and aims their weapon.
At first, I wonder how he notice this (maybe, a slight look, before a double take), but then, when I
render the Animation, I notice the Antagonist reflection shows in the Window!
I find it Lucky, the Camera was in the right location, for that scene to work, as it does.
I also have a number of Dalmatians, eyeing the scene and showing their reaction to the scene that
just happen.
Though, considering these are more Cel like Images, on a face, the Dalmatians look the same on
either side, which would cause a type of inconsistent look to them, if they show up in a reflection.
What I was able to do, to fix this (or at least, cover it up) was to place a Barrel, or a certain prop, in
front of the reflective surface.
I was then able to have some Music and Sound Effects, on the Video, and also work on the speed of
the video, the Howl Noon Animation should work pretty well.
Stood Up
When ask to choose an Image of a character, in a Story, my first idea is that of Cruella Devil, from;
“101 Dalmatians” (as you can tell, from the multiple Animations, I am a devoted lover of; “101
Dalmatians”).
I base her appearance on the Images of artist; David Roberts, whose Images are use in the 2006
Edition of the; Dodie Smith Novel.
On my first try of a Model…An issue with it is that it was REALLY block and each polygon has too
many edges, having up to five or six, than three or four.
An issue that shows too is also how the textures didn’t’ seem to work, on the Model, for some
reason.
But, with some help, The Cruella model was able to take a MUCH BETTER looking shape, with a look
closer to what her; “Novel” Images look like.
It even helps that the textures works, in this Model too.
On the subject of Textures, I was able to apply a texture, to a scene, which I built around the Model.
The colour of the walls, are themselves a Homage to a line in the; “101 Dalmatians” Novel, being;
“Red Marble Drawing Room” and the floor is a Purple Marble, to work with the design that Villa
Devil has in; “101 Dalmatians The Series”.
There were some issues, with the wall textures, with how they render, but I was able to align the
faces, so that they look consistent on the walls.
I was also able to add a Wobble effect, on the table, of the vase, she knocks, with Lecturer Advice.
My Self-Analysis is also attach to the Disk, the Animations and this document are on too.
What may I need to work on, when it comes to Character Building?
