“Becoming the Beloved Community” TODAY at 10 AM in the Parish Hall
The Beloved Community is the body within which we promote the fruits of the spirit and grow to recognize our kinship as people who love God and love the image of God that we find in our neighbors, in ourselves, and in creation. It provides a positive, theologically and biblically based ideal toward which we can grow in love, rather than framing our justice and reconciliation efforts as fundamentally “against.”
Please join us for this advent program.
For more information about this series, please contact Chuck Collier or Vima Couvertier-Cruz or visit/www.episcopalchurch.org/page/becoming-beloved-community.
Advent Lesson and Carols TODAY, Sunday, December 17, at 5 PM
Featuring the Choir of All Saints’ & Bells of All Saints’
The Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols will be held as its own service on the third Sunday of Advent. The service draws upon the tradition instated at Kings College, Cambridge University, in 1918. We, in Concord, keep this tradition just as do many churches in America, where prayers and lessons will be read and carols and hymns sung.

Thank you to Panera Bread. They were kind enough to provide the All Saints’ team with six large loaves of French bread for the Saturday evening meal at the Night Shelter on December 2nd. It helped make the meal complete, and all our guests really enjoyed the fresh bread with their baked ravioli dinner!
Our condolences and prayers for the family and friends of Bob Norwood, brother of Hilda Marshall and uncle of Valerie Drye, who entered into the resurrection on November 25th.
We celebrate with Aurora Swain, Director of Operations for Families First and the director of the Lockhart Preschool here at All Saints’. She was recently named National Parent Educator of the Year! Please join us in celebrating her 12 years of service to families with young children, as she was recognized for implementing this national program here in Cabarrus County with exemplary outcomes.

“My name is Fran Burkett. I have been an Episcopalian since 1985. I started looking at Episcopal churches in the area in January of 2016. I first came to All Saints' in May of 2016 after having looked at websites of other Episcopal churches in the area. I loved All Saints' from the first time I looked at the website. I was very impressed with all the ministries and activities available. I have always been welcomed with open arms
and love from the time I first walked in the door. My love for All Saints' deepened when Father Jeff Batkin told me he knew Reverend Nancy and how everyone in the church embraced and supported her while she was on medical leave. I participate in several ministries at All Saints' that include our Youth ministry and Education for Ministry.
I came to Concord because my son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren live here. My son was fortunate to receive a scholarship to Christ School and started school there in eighth grade and graduated in 2001.
Having served on other vestries over the years, I want to serve on this vestry because I believe I can always be a presence at All Saints’ and help in various situations.
