AGRI-PARKS …. AGRI-HUBS

VERSION 101 Of

THE BROWN REVOLUTION

The National MAGIC Initiative April 2016

DESIGNED, FORMULATED, ENGINEERED & MANAGED BY:

SOIL - SOUL - SOCIETY

A National Applied Technology Initiative (NATI) by:

WHY COOPERATIVES?

ILO World Conference 2015 -

WHY AGROECOLOGY ? (1) 1. Reversing the negative effect of climate change 2. Application of the 17 outcomes of SDG’s 3. Food, fibre and fuel sovereignty 4. Peer to peer education and training 5. All-in-one and one-stop- shop for small producers

WHY AGROECOLOGY ? (2) 6. New generation of true agrarian producers 7. Cleaner production and consumption 8. Local autonomy, self sufficiency and independence 9. Good nutrition, diet and immunology 10. Saving and conserving water and energy

A PROGRAM 1. FOR THE PEOPLE, 2. BY THE PEOPLE, 3. WITH THE PEOPLE

STARTS WITH THE SOFIA PARK IN PARTNERSHIP

WITH MUNICIPALITY

HOW DOES IT WORK?

BASED ON THE 4 PILLARS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Millennium old technology

550 millions small traditional farmers feed 2/3 of world population

Point of departure: the soil organic fertility

Complex supply and value chain – no single ownership

Biological and microbiological “magic”

Animal manure – particularly ruminant mammals

Composts

Green manure

Cellulose – logs for domestic fuels

Mulches

Biochar

Effective Micro-organisms

Vermiculture,

Natural “intervention” tinctures

Guano

Bone meal

Sea weed

SOIL IS THE NEW … the GOLD

Change in the water retention capacity of soils (L/Ha) as the organic carbon levels (OC) at 30 cm depth vary (soil density 1.2 g/cm3)

As we increase carbon levels, you will find Enormous gains in WATER RETENTION, With high carbon sinkage facilities.

AGRI-LOGISTICS 101 Move the artisan enterprise where the action is

Operated by the local skilled Cooperatives - mobile on trucks, by trucks

The conversion of Biomass into fuel requires the combination of novel technologies, including a gasification unit and a Fischer-Tropsch . The carbon feedstock (municipal waste or coal) is converted to syngas (mainly carbon monoxide and hydrogen) in the Gasifier. The syngas is passed through a gas cleanup step to reduce the levels of harmful contaminants in the gas that could be damaging to novel reactor system. The clean syngas is then introduced to the reactor containing the Modified Fischer-Trospch catalysts, producing synthetic fuels. The product stream from the reactor is then cooled and product cuts removed at the appropriate point. The remaining tail gas is passed to an electricity generation unit. The process is flexible and the ratio of fuel-to-electricity production can be varied accordingly.

The prototype unit is capable of processing 1 ton of biomass and converting it into 1 barrel of liquid fuels (syncrude) per day and sufficient electricity to operate the plant. The plant has been designed such that it fits into a container and onto a truck – a world first for fuel production!

AGRI-LOGISTICS 101 – Fuel Production
