EMPATHY MAP

& The Problem Statement

MEET THE EMPLOYER

A Smart, Pro-active, Committed, Supportive & Hard-working Owner of a Small Business

INTERVIEW OF AN EMPLOYER

SAY :

Employing freshers is a time and energy consuming task. They do not have any idea of what their job would entail, what sort

of work they will have to do. Employee's Attitude makes a lot of difference. In the six months training period, the employee learns all the

necessary aspects of his job. Small-scale industries can not afford to invest in the training-experts

or other type of training professionals. They have to engage a senior employee to train the new employees or do the job themselves.

ACTION

DO

Advertises in the local newspapers, websites, employment agencies for a position in the company besides a word-of-mouth publicity.

Trains and guides many fresh employees in the company, despite knowing they may not last longer.

Guides employees through unfamiliar aspects of their job and support.

Provides them with different skills teaching and information necessary for the job.

Try to build up their confidence about their job.

THOUGHTS

THINK & FEEL :  Attitude of an employee matters a lot. You can train the employees in new skills, equip them

with the information, but how to change their attitude? Training a freshly appointed employee for a period of 6

months, spending considerable time - energy & efforts on him takes quite a toll. It affects work performance.

How can the newly appointed employees adapt to their working environment in an economic, efficient and effective manner?

INSIGHT

A small business needs a way to help new employees adapt quickly & efficiently to their working environment.

Because long time to adapt & learn skills weighs on productivity and profits.
