Perfect tense. They will be able to talk about things that have happened in their lives. Also, students
will learn key English vocabulary about family members and relationships suitable for this level.

1. Listen to Lisas story and fill in the blanks.

Grammar Box:
1. How to form Present Perfect Tense:
Present Perfect Tense is formed by using the past participle form of the verb.
past participle = 3rd formof the verb (know knew known)
Positive
(I, you, we, they) + have + past participle (he, she, it) + has + past participle
Example:I have lived in Tokyo for seven years.
Negative
(I, you, we, they) + have not/havent + past participle (he, she, it) + has not/ hasnt + past participle
Example:I have not lived in Tokyo for seven years.
Questions
Have + (I, you, we, they) + past participle? Has + (he, she, it) + past participle?
Example:Have you lived in Japan?
2. When to use Present Perfect Tense:
We use Present Perfect Tense to talk about things that happened in the past, but we can still see the
result now.
Example:My grandparents have lived together for 42 years. *They still live together now.
Practice:
1. Make the verb in brackets Present Perfect Tense.
