1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Scope This report presents a summary of exploration assessment work performed on licence 17334M from the Port Hope Simpson area, by property holder, Alterra Resources Inc., during the period from January, 2010 to February 2011. This licence is composed of 104 claims.

1.2 Property Location and Access

This license is located in south-eastern Labrador. It is accessible by boat, as its south eastern border s the shoreline of the St.Lewis River. The western edge of 17334M is also accessible via Route 510 of the Trans Labrador Highway. Helicopter transport was also used.

1.3 Physiography The vegetation in this locality varies from boreal forest, consisting of spruce, pine, some

poplar and birch, to areas covered by alders and caribou moss. Bedrock exposure is generally less than 10 percent.

2. PREVIOUS WORK Cartaway Resources Corporation conducted an exploration program for Ni-Cu-Co in 1996-1997. They had a geophysical survey flown over the area and also hired Clark-Eveleigh Consulting to do two weeks of field work. This field work led them to the conclusion that there is a large mafic body in the area and that due to the small amount of outcrop in the vicinity, there could be a major target hidden. 3. GEOLOGY

3.1 Regional Geology and Mineralogy

Regional geology in the Mary’s Harbour Weat Area belongs to three lithotectonic domains of the Grenville Structural Province: from north to south, Lake Melville, Mealy Mountains and Pinware (Gower, 2005; Gower et al.,1987, 1988). Each of these domains is distinguished by differing lithologies, structures and metamorphic effects; the domains are separated by major fault zones (Gower et al., 1987, 1988).

The Lake Melville domain, in the Port Hope Simpson area, is characterized by units of the Alexis River anorthosite, biotite-bearing granite, granodiorite and quartz diorite to diorite gneiss (Gower et al., 1987, 1988). The Fox Harbour fault zone separates the Lake Melville, to the north, from the Mealy Mountain domain, to the south (Gower, 2005).

The Mealy Mountains domain, which occurs on the north shore of St. Lewis Inlet and northwestward consists mostly of biotite granitic gneiss, K-feldspar megacrystic granite gneiss, quartz diorite to dioritic gneisses and pelitic to semipelitic sedimentary gneisses (Gower et al.,1987, 1988). The Mealy Mountains domain is separated from the Pinware domain by the Long Harbour fault zone; this fault mainly occurs within St. Lewis Inlet (Gower, 2005).

The Pinware domain, in the St. Lewis Inlet area, consists of metamorphosed felsic to intermediate intrusions and older intercalated quartzofeldspathic supracrustal rocks. Intrusions consist mainly of granite, K-feldspar megacrystic granite, quartz monzonite, granodiorite and quartz diorite (Gower et al., 1987, 1988). Supracrustal rocks are thought to be metamorphosed felsic volcanic rocks and arenitic sediments (Gower, 2007).

Granitic pegmatites cut most units in the region. Some of the biotite and/or magnetite-bearing granitic dykes also contain unidentified U, Th and REE minerals.

3.2 Property Geology and Mineralogy and Mineralization Due to the preliminary nature of exploration work on this, it was not mapped in any detail. Most work revolved around prospecting and sampling, utilizing a spectrometer to highlight areas of anomalous radioactivity. U and Th as well as the rare earth elements are considered incompatible elements. In an intrusive or volcanic environment they are associated with more evolved or late stage fluids, particularly pegmatites and aplites, as well as peralkaline rocks in general, as they are a more highly evolved differentiate that are enriched in the incompatible elements.

4. 2010/2011 EXPLORATION PROGRAM

4.1 Exploration Activities Exploration work conducted on this property during the period covered by this

assessment report consisted of:

1. Airborne Radiometric and Magnetometer survey by Aeroquest 2. Helicopter-borne hand held spectrometer survey 3. Prospecting and lithogeochemical sampling 4. Clearing , hand trenching and channel sampling using a portable chop saw

Not all the above were performed on all licences. Ground work was truck, boat and helicopter supported. Various training courses were given to most of the workers prior to commencement of operations. These included:

1. Medical/first aid 2. Trenching course 3. Confined Spaces Course 4. Helicopter Safety Session 5. Backpack and Chop Saw Safety Course

Expenditures by licence and work type are listed in Appendix B.

During November, 2009 Alterra Resources had an airborne radiometric and magnetic survey flown over a large area of Alterra’s claims. The survey was conducted by Aeroquest International Ltd and it outlined numerous radiometric anomalies. This survey covered licence 17334M.

The 2010 exploration program commenced with a program of anomaly assessment which initially consisted of prospecting and sampling with teams of geologists and prospectors utilizing both truck and helicopter support. The focus of exploration activity was Rare Earth Elements (REE), along with associated Zr, Y and Nb.

Subsequent to the discovery of anomalous zones select areas were cleared and channel sampled using a chop saw which cut channels 10cm deep and 8cm wide. These channels were subsequently logged, sampled and a complete representative sample stored in specially designed channel boxes.

All 2010 samples were sent to Activation Labs Ltd. for lithogeochemical analysis. Activation Laboratories has a prep laboratory in Goose Bay, Labrador and analysis is conducted in Ancaster, Ontario.

4.1.1 Geophysics Mineralized REE pegmatites commonly contain elevated concentrations of incompatible

elements such as: Th, U, Ta, Zr, and Nb. Correlation between the U and Th radiometric data and the location of known REE pegmatites indicate that U, Th, and radioactivity are good pathfinders for REE’s.

!"#"#"#$%&'()*&+,$+*'-&.$$A low level (50 m above ground level) airborne geophysical survey was conducted by

Aeroquest Surveys from November 8th till November 24th of 2009. The survey was performed with the use of a fixed wing plane to collect detailed magnetic and radiometric data. The flight direction was at 25o/205o, with a line spacing of 250m. See Appendix D for the complete survey report. Four figures using the data obtained from the survey are shown in figure 3.

4.1.2 Geochemical Sampling During the 2010 field season 21 samples were taken for geochemical analysis on this licence. Numerous traverses were completed, with the aid of a helicopter to target geophysical anomalies from the Aeroquest survey. Several samples taken from this area showed anomalous Yttrium, Zirconium, Niobium and Rare Earth Element concentrations. See figure 4 for sample locations.

4.2 Exploration Results Exploration on this licence gave mixed results. While some samples were anomalous, numerous others were relatively barren of Rare Earths and incompatibles. All of the samples

taken on this licence were pegmatites so varying amounts of differentiation probably led to the varying amounts in these desired elements.

5. CONCLUSION AND RECOMENDATIONS Due to the presence of several anomalous samples that are enriched in incompatibles and REE’s in this area, further work is recommended. Further prospecting, as well as channel sampling and mapping would further add to our understanding of the geology that is found not only on this licence but the surrounding areas as well.
