In this game, you control Mario ashe races to save Princess Peach.Mario must overcome trickyobstacles and fearsome enemies toconquer each level.And to add an extra layer ofchallenge, try collecting asmany coins as you can along yourway!

Options
Play 3 courses in a row trying tocollect as many coins as possible.You can receive data from playersyou meet via StreetPass™.
Coin Rush (p. 16-17)
Note: This mode will be unlocked asyou progress through the game.
Two players team up and playtogether via Local Play.

4 Save File Selection
Delete All Save DataAfter launching the software, waitfor the Nintendo 3DS logo todisappear and then hold down+++. You can then deleteall save data.
Delete a save file.
DeleteCopy a save file to another slot.
Copy
Select NEW GAME tstart from thbeginning. Tcontinue from previously savegame, select the appropriate savefile.
Note: Deleted data cannot berecovered, so be careful.

5 Saving Data
Note: The total coin indicator talliesevery coin gathered by both Marioand Luigi.
The Mario player's game will besaved based on the same rules asfor Solo Play.
Co-op Play
The game is saved at differentpoints depending on the gamemode.
Pause the game on the map screen(p. 11) and select QUICK SAVE totemporarily save your progress andend the game.
Note:
Quick Save
- This quick save will be deletedupon reloading it.
- After completing the game, youcan save whenever you like.
Note: After completing the game,you can save on the map screenwhenever you want.
When you complete a tower orcastle (p. 11), or pass through aStar Coin sign (p. 11), you will begiven the option to save yourprogress.
Solo Play
● Do not use externalaccessories or software tomodify your save data, as thiscan lead to an inability toprogress or loss of save data.Any modification is permanent,so be careful.
● Do not turn the power off andon repeatedly or remove theGame Card or SD Card whilesaving. Make sure not to resetthe system during saves orget dirt in the terminals. Theseactions could result inpermanent data loss.
Note: Data received via SpotPass(p. 18) will be saved to the SDCard.
Data will automatically be savedwhen it is received.
StreetPass and SpotPass
Only the total coins will besaved. Game progress, lives,items (p. 12), etc. will not besaved.

Even if one player blunders, as longas the other player remains on thecourse, you will not lose a life. Theplayer who made the blunder will re-enter the course in a bubble.

How to Play
・You will play through a coursepack consisting of 3 randomcourses that have been cleared inthe normal game mode.
・The 3 courses must be completedconsecutively. A single blunderwill result in game over.
・The time limit is a lot shorter thanSolo Play or Co-op Play.
・Touch a Checkpoint Flag or grab a+ Cloc ), to add more time tothe clock.

Activation / DeactivationYou will have the option to activateSpotPass the first time you start thegame. You can deactivate SpotPass at anytime from the in-game Options menu(p. 3).

In order to be able to downloadcourse packs, you will have to optinto receiving notifications for thistitle via SpotPass. Once you receive the appropriatenotification, the SHOP button willappear in Coin Rush. Please readthe information on screen beforemaking a purchase.
