WHAT IS A HOUSE SYSTEM? The school is divided into teams called

'houses' and each student is allocated to one house.

Houses compete with one another through-out the school year, gaining house points for their teams total score.

WHY DOES BUXTON WANT A HOUSE SYSTEM? Create a friendly competition between

pupils encouraging you to take extra pride the day to day things that you do at school

Encourage pupils to attend extra curricular activities

Build bonds and friendships with pupils across all year groups

Develop a sense of belonging to something other than being a member of Buxton School

INTRODUCTION TO HOUSE NAME The theme of the house names comes

from people who have changed the world.

The junior BLT team worked long and hard on selecting the names.

So who is ……………….. (member of the Junior BLT team to introduce the person who their House is named after).

WHAT’S NEXT? Now we need to start working as a team to

earn as many points as possible! Where do we start? I need to:1. Make sure I get to school EVERY DAY2. Make sure I get in ON TIME3. Work hard in all lessons, trying to get as

many merits as possible4. Bring my READING BOOK to school with

me every day5. Listen out for HOUSE COMPETITIONS that I
