LIS4480 Spring 2014

+INTRODUCTION

Purpose: Provide a hands-on learning experience for a local girl scout troop through two sessions of technical education that will allow participating girl scouts earn their STEM .(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) badges.

+UPCOMING PLANS

Set Event Dates Approve dates by scouts leader

as well as instructors for the info session

Seek out educators for lesson plans after dates are finalized

Event will be held in WJB room 210

Find 12-17 volunteers 1 volunteer per table Train & inform lesson plan

information

Lesson Topics Photoshop, iMovie, WordPress,

HTML, Websites, Security

Finalize paper work Volunteer background check Confirmation of lesson

facilitators

Preserve Data Post event surveys for records

and future events Update wiki

+TEAM MEMBERS & ROLES

Co-Leaders: Kristina Wong & Krisitn Eriksen Oversees team to ensure

deadlines & goals are executed in a timely manner

Manages dates, instructors, volunteers and paperwork

Communicates with Volunteers, Instructors, Girl Scouts Leader, Ebe & teammates

Responsible for distribution of instructions and lesson plans

Team Members: Anthony Kane, Sarah Yasi, Kya Deandre Recruit volunteers Collaborates with team

members to: Assist in lesson plans Brainstorm ideas

Our success comes from the sessions we will hold.

Our main goal is to help each girl scout in the troop to achieve their STEM Badge by teaching them a skill vital to the technology world.
