WEB APPLICATIONS & TOOLS
User Agreements • Must be checked for AGE restrictions
– If you don’t have time… ask ME!!• Students can’t create accounts • Parents must be notified
– If it isn’t preapproved you must send a mass email to all parents to get a approval.
– CC Rioux if you send any emails to parents regarding this• Pre-approved: Padlet, PowToon, VoiceThread,
PBWorks, Voki, SchoolTube, Glogster, GAFE, EduBlog
LABS & CARTS
Labs & Carts• Can NOT be used by substitutes – Make sure if
you’re out you have a back up plan• Teachers must plug and unplug devices from carts• Return carts with wires correctly stored• Don’t expect use technology until September– Testing and training
Lab & Cart Scheduling• 3 days per week per content• Taking care of iPad carts• Sign up on Outlook calendars• No ALL DAY events – start/end time; no Planning • Use colors on iPad carts
BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE
BYOD• Students are allowed to bring their own
technology to use at school• Your classroom management makes determines
how successful BYOD is in your classroom– My recommendations
• When it enters your room have it turned to airplane mode and connected to wifi
• Have it stay in the upper right corner of their desk unless in use
Teachers’ Personal Devices• Login using fcboe\user id– This will unblock less applications
SERVER & NETWORK
Apps Server• Tech Stuff folder (in apps drive) has guides to add
outlook calendars, printers, & flooders• Ped HAS sent a school wide email with more
information
Server Space• Everyone has there own space on the server,
however it isn’t much• We recommend getting an external hard drive to
keep everything• You also have more space on google drive
