Advanced TESOL certification modules focus on methods and approaches to TESOL, creating lesson plans, and preparing to teach English. The platforms presently being used by ATI for online study are Moodle, Php Live Chat, Adobe Professional Connect, and Second Life. A certified student should be knowledgeable in methods and approaches to teaching English, and be able to create an ESL lesson plan for presentation in a classroom. Potential students should be fluent in English with at minimum a GED or High School Diploma. To meet the challenges of preparing people to teach with online study, ATI has created a virtual classroom on Second Life which allows simulated practical teaching experience. This application is currently extra-curricular.
