    The Government cannot establish

    a religion, and must allow people

    to exercise their religion freely

    Freedom of speech, press, and

    the right of the people topeaceably assemble.

    The right to form a Militia,

    the right of the people tokeep and bear Arms.

    4th Amendment

    The right of the people to be secure

    in their persons, houses, papers, and

    effects, against unreasonablesearches and seizures,

    Warrants can only be issued upon

    probable cause and signed by a

    judge.

    5th Amendment

    Cannot be charged with the same crimetwice.

    You do not have to be a witness against

    yourself (the right to remain silent), nor

    be deprived of life, liberty, or property,

    without due process of law.

    Private property be taken for public use,

    without just compensation (eminent

    domain).

    6th Amendment

    You have the right to a speedy

    and public trial, by an impartial

    jury

    You have the right to confront

    witnesses against you. You have the right to an attorney.

    7th Amendment

    In civil cases if the value being sued for

    exceeds $20 than you have the right to a jury

    trial; however, you also have the right to waive

    this and have a judge preside over your case.

    When the constitution was written $20 was a lot

    of money.

    This provision is carried out on the federal levelbut states dont necessarily honor the 7th

    amendment

    8th Amendment

    Excessive bail shall not be

    required, nor excessivefines imposed, nor cruel

    and unusual punishmentsinflicted.

    9th Amendment

    The enumeration in the Constitution,

    of certain rights, shall not be

    construed to deny or disparageothers retained by the people.

    Which means: You are not limited

    to just those rights that are listed

    in the constitution.

    10th Amendment

    The powers not delegated to the United

    States by the Constitution, nor prohibited

    by it to the States, are reserved to theStates respectively, or to the people.

    Any power not given to the federal

    government and is not prohibited bystates, gives the states the power.

    12th Amendment

    Separated the election for President and Vice

    President. Electors could distinctly choose one

    person for President and one person for vice

    president. (John Adams and Thomas Jefferson)

    Outlines rules if a tie occurs.

    Was ratified in 1933 to have inauguration

    changed to January 20th.

    Section 1. All persons born or naturalized inthe United States, are citizens of the UnitedStates and of the State wherein they reside.

    Equal Protection clause: No State shall make orenforce any law which shall abridge the privilegesor immunities of citizens of the United States; norshall any State deprive any person of life, liberty,

    or property, without due process of law; nor denyto any person within itsjurisdiction the equalprotection of the laws.

    Presidential succession:

    If the President is removed/dies then the Vice

    President will become President.

    If the Vice President and the majority of thecabinet deem that the President is unable to

    complete his duties then they can petition

    congress and they would need a 2/3 vote.
