Jazz

• It’s one of the most expressive kinds of dance.Jazz is supported by improvise. It is said thatjazz was originated by popular roots, it wasborn by black culture.

• The movements of this kind of dance areunexpected. It’s a mix of slow and elegantsteps, which are at the same time, fast andagile.

• The dancers have to be flexible, and payattention to the song and the rhythm.

Street Dance

• Street dance was originated from blackculture, and its diffusion happened in the streetsof the big cities, where today are located thebiggest focus of RAP(Rhythm and Poetry). Thefirst manifestations appeared in a time ofeconomic crisis in EUA, in 1929, when thecabarets musicians and dancers where withoutjob and went to streets to have money. While itwas spreading, there was the creation of a lot ofdance styles, like break, hip hop, funk and soul.

About me

• My name is Nathália Bondan and I am 13.Istarted dancing when I was 7, and dance is onepart of me until today. For me, dance is one ofthe best forms to express yourself and yourfeelings.

• I dance in Fêmina Escola de Danças, and I like itso much. We participate of contests in BentoGonçalves and Porto Alegre. In the end of theyears we have a big presentation of all theschool, with a determined topic, all the years, andwe present more than 20 choreographies.
