allb, a new wearable device to help parents get a good night of sleep Introduction of our product and features (Checks your baby's respiration and skin temperature before oxygen saturation falls.) Any parent who has experienced childcare will have experienced worry and lost sleep. allb has developed a wearable device called 'allb' that monitors the baby's health in real time and sends an alert to the parent’s smartphone if anything is amiss, so that they can quickly take care of any problems that may arise.

allb allows parents to check up on their babies in real time. Recently, there have been many new wristbands and watches that monitor heart rate and other vitals. We took the idea from this emerging technology to create a device for monitoring a baby’s health. Instead of strapping onto the wrist, allb attaches to the diaper or waistband, where it can monitor breathing to prevent SIDS. It also monitors the baby’s skin temperature and whether he or she is sleeping in the prone position. In addition to these functions, there is a sleep logging feature that allows parents to keep track of their baby’s sleep times.

In the event that the baby stops breathing for more than 20 seconds, allb emits an audible alarm from the device to notify those nearby and sends an alert to the smartphones of all connected family members so that they can respond quickly. Through joint research conducted with pediatricians, we developed our proprietary algorithm called “allb Insight.” This algorithm works through analyzing the aggregated data from the different allb users and providing “Insight” customized to the user’s baby. As long as someone is near the allb device with a smartphone connected through bluetooth, the parents, family, and friends who are connected can check up on the baby. We especially thought of parents who both work and grandparents in developing this device. There are two main distinctions that separate our device from similar devices presently on the market. First, regardless of the baby’s physical development, allb can be used from 0 to 24 months without changing the size or making any other such adjustment. Parents can easily clip it onto the diaper or waistband. Secondly, because allb utilizes a combined respiration monitor and skin temperature monitor, arrested breathing can be detected and taken care of before the oxygen saturation decreases or the heart stops beating. A little help for the parents of the world A wearable device created with the help of an emergency room pediatrician. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is the number 1 cause of death within the first 100 days of normally born babies. In some of these cases babies suffocate while sleeping face down or just stop breathing during sleep. In America alone, 1,500 babies die each year from SIDS. The American National Institute of Health is currently conducting research to find a prevention method for SIDS. Diana, one of allb's team members and a pediatrician at a large hospital, said, "I kept seeing babies coming to the emergency room after their breathing had stopped without any cause or symptoms due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. I thought that we needed a device that that parents could use at home to monitor the baby’s breathing 24 hours a day like we have in the hospital.
