Assignment guidance: The subject/ theme for this assignment should be based on ‘Human Form’.

● Prior to starting this final ‘assessed’ outcome, during lessons you will/ should have produced a series of studies, sketch’s, drawings and outcomes, of the human figure.

● It is important that your work for this assignment demonstrates your knowledge

and understanding of basic human figure ‘structure’ and ‘proportion.

● In your sketchbook/ journal ‘prep’ or ‘practice’ pieces should be completed to allow you opportunity to develop, and explore a range of possible outcomes. This exploration could include:

○ Subject matter - What you will base your work on/ about.○ Media - The chosen material(s) you intend to use for your final work, such

as charcoal, chalk, pastel, paint etc.○ Scale/ composition - How big will your work be, and a range of possible

layouts.

● You will receive more marks for using:○ A ‘full’ range of tone, appropriately with clear knowledge and

understanding of ‘light’ (cause/ effect)○ Good structure and proportion.○ Attention to detail(s).○ A considered and effective background.○ Clear links to your development work/ intentions.

● This assignment is to be done on a large (A1 (size) minimum) canvas, consider

making your own ‘LARGE’ canvas, ask your teacher for assistance with this.

● Try to ensure that your work is linked to the work of another artist, either by ‘subject’, ‘style’ or ‘theme’.

● Produce evidence inside your journal/ sketchbook to show that you have explored possible artists, relevant to your work/ idea.

● Read the Assessment Objectives carefully to ensure you know how your work will be marked by clicking on the ‘AFL’ button on the assignment page.

Use techniques that you have learnt in class to help your work develop using good basic structure.
