When it was brought to our attention that a handful of products on the shelves of our Woodbridge, Va., store were out-of-date, we immediately removed those products. As a next step, we checked the remaining products to ensure that everything on our shelves met ALDI’s high-quality standards. In addition, we are reviewing our protocols and our approach to training to determine any areas in which we can improve. Equally as important, we apologize for the way Mr. Van Cleave was treated at our store. This behavior is not in line with our company’s values or our clearly stated policies and procedures, and we have taken appropriate action. For more than 30 years, smart shoppers have counted on ALDI for the best in high quality, high value products. Our loyal customers and our continued growth are our greatest testament to our high quality products.
