ALAN ROSS ANDERSON MEMORIAL FUND As a memorial to Alan Anderson, who died December 5, 1973, there has been established

at the University of Pittsburgh an Alan Ross Anderson Memorial Fund, whose initial purpose is to fund a prize or fellowship for a graduate student or junior faculty member. Readers who wish to remember Professor Anderson with a contribution should send it to the Alan Ross Anderson Fund, in care of the Department of Philosophy; University of Pittsburgh; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15260, U.S.A.

NOTICE OF THE SOCIETY FOR EXACT PHILOSOPHY The Third Annual Conference of the Society for Exact Philosophy was held Thursday-

Saturday, 9-11 May 1974, at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Scheduled speakers were: Nuel D. Belnap, Jr. (University of Pittsburgh); Hector-Neri Castafieda (Indiana University); Dorothy Grover (University of Illinois, Chicago Circle); Marsha Hanen (University of Calgary); Clifford W. Hooker (University of Western Ontario); David Kaplan (University of California, Los Angeles); Karel Lambert (University of California, Irvine); Hugues Leblanc (Temple University); Charles G. Morgan (University of Alberta); John Woods (University of Victoria).

Membership in the Society is open to anyone. Annual dues are $2.00 (U.S.) and should be sent to Ronald Giere, History and Philosophy of Science, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana 47401.

NOTICE OF THE NEW JOURNAL TEACHING PHILOSOPHY A new journal, TEACHING PHILOSOPHY, will appear twice yearly beginning January,

1975. The editors, Arnold Wilson and William Todd, invite papers concerned with any facet of the teaching of philosophy and the planning of philosophy courses and curricula. Reports on innovative efforts, articles on the training of teachers of philosophy, and assessments of the likely impact of new teaching ideas for the discipline, as well as notes and news items, are all welcome.

A regular feature will be critical notices of textbooks and surveys of materials available for teaching particular areas-recent texts in introductory logic, for example. Persons interested in contributing such notices, should write the editors, indicating their areas of interest.
