AkiliVisual Magazine’s
mission is to provide visually
compelling imagery and
provocative content to lovers of
art, photography, film, and music. This
unique magazine provides established and
burgeoning artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs
and business owners a vehicle of exposure
and advertising that specifically targets the
educated, social-media-saavy African-
American woman and man between
the ages of 21-45.
MAGAZinE oVERViEWsince its inception AkiliVisual
Magazine has been a visually artistic piece in and of itself focused on delivering a blend
of sensually provocative photography and thought-provoking articles all created by a self-taught artist from the
south side of Chicago.
Interviews with burgeoning artists in film, art, fashion, music and spoken word among others give the artists the opportunity to share details about
their backgrounds, experiences and offer insights of who they are, how they got here, and how they view the world.
Artists share with our audience the obstacles they’ve overcome to get them where they are in the hopes of helping others reach their goals. Promoting and bringing awareness to current and future projects is always the goal of each article. AkiliVisual Magazine uses embedded hyperlinks to click through to video, music, web sites and more for each brand. And the iPad version (Summer of 2013) offers dynamic functionality that sets AkiliVisual Magazine apart from any other brand representing the black culture.
TARGET AUDIENCEAkiliVisual Magazine’s target audience is African-American women and men from 21-45 that are fans of the art and artists in the genres of film, photography,
music and poetry. Our target audience is computer savvy and casual to heavy users of social-networking, primarily Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr

Be.AkiliMy voice is heard best when i don’t
speak. Images crafted from still-life speak to my eye, while stories, essays and poetry speak to my thou ghts.
Columbia College recieved my fathers hard-earned money and i recieved a degree in film with a concentration in screenwriting. I learned screenwriting from a book later, I learned filmmaking at Columbia during my time there. I began filmmaking in 2007 with the film “Desire’s Surprise” which was showcased in film festivals accros the country.
In 1998, after reading Deepak Chopra’s “The Seven Spiritual Laws of success”, i told myself i intend to be in a position to produce, market, and distribute my own films without the need of Hollywood and their penchant for altering the story originally written. Today i stand here doing exactly that for myself and others via AkiliVisual Magazine.
Every word, image and action is done in concert with every other to achieve my purpose, and with my first feature (Jihad: The Vision) and first business venture set to begin in 2013, I am poised to achieve another step towards that purpose.
