Internship In Air Liquide Singapore—Health, Safety,

Environment & Security (HSES)

During the 5 months industrial attachment, I managed noise monitoring project,

an ongoing initiative of HSES to improve safety of employees. Other tasks from

other corporate functions such as Personnel Expenses Analysis from Human

Resources and HSES Google Site design which involved Information Technology

were also undertaken to broaden my understanding of a successful MNC.

Brand new insights to gas industry

Being the world leader in the gases, Air

Liquide presented us their business

strategies and possible future

development of the 4 major business

lines namely Large Industries,

Electronics, Industrial Merchants and

Healthcare. Air Liquide has been

keeping track of the ever changing

business environment to ensure that

the gas business is competitive without

neglecting consumers’ and societal

needs.

We visited i-Lab, Innovation Lab

which helps accelerate the pace of

Group’s innovation and develops

ideas and products that go hand

in hand with world advancement.

We were very fortunate to

have the opportunity to visit

the Paris-Saclay Research

Center which serves as the

centre for the development of

innovative solutions for all the

Group’s activities covering 8

major competencies such as

Process Engineering, Design & Manufacturing and Applied Mathematics. The visit

enabled me to have a deeper understanding to Air Liquide’s activities and how it

actually benefit the consumers.

8 Days, 21 Countries, 35 Enthusiastic

Air Liquide Summer School 2016 brings 35 success top

Friends and Fun

We made full use of our free time

during the weekends to explore

Paris to the fullest. We visited

most of the famous tourist

attraction spots in Paris, enjoyed

the famous French cuisine and

took photographs together.

We also spent some of our free

time to watch football in and enjoy

Euro 2016 which was held in Paris.

We soaked in the atmosphere of

Euro and cheered to support our

favourite team.

All in all it was a fantastic week

in understanding the diversified

business and culture of Air

Liquide Group. It was also a

great opportunity to interact with

top students from all over the

world, draw strength from each

other, share our dreams and

visions in life. The invaluable experience gained and friendship made is something

that we will be taking with us forever.

Business Case Study & Presentation

A business case study was introduced to all the participants to further enhance

our understanding to the day to day business challenges of the group. With 5

other teammates, we were required to think out of the box and come out with

practical approach to improve the current sleep apnea patients treatment

process which is a part of Air Liquide business.

Our team consists of 6 members from

d i f f e r e n t b a c k g r o u n d s a n d

nationalities. We worked diligently as

a team to make this business case a

success. There were extensive

discussions and healthy debates

during the brainstorming to create

the best outcome. We had to ensure

that our business plans are practical

and complete with business strategies

of our supply chain and marketing.

We worked extremely hard to

overcome the differences of

opinions and communicated

effectively to make our

business case a success.
