Darticular evernution;

There are two posts involved in the invoicing/ordering fhction one of which has been the subject of long term sick leave since April 1997. This now means that there will be no substantive cover at all for t h ~ s h c t i o n within the department.

Brief Outline of Job:

The Senior Clerical officer is responsible for the administration within the Area Community Zducation office and associated projects. The postholder has responsibility for eight clerical issistant as well as the specific clerical duties associated with the post: typing and word )recessing; budget monitoring; financial record keeping; cash handling and banking; maintaining nventories; processing orders and invoices for supplies and materials; and general reception luties. HelShe is also required to undertake duties of the clerical assistants in their absence.

Alternatives to immediate filling of vacancy are limited due to nature of existing clerical staff hours either job share, limited hours of specific project appointment - Urban Aid etc. r- - -

What are the consequences if this post is not filled?

Failure to fill post will result in a reduction of service to Community Education staf f re typing, budgets etc. This in turn will effect the many Community groups supported throughout the Bellshill area. In addition there will be a reduction in the response time to enquirieslrequest made by members of the public.

Further to the above this is the only Senior Clerical post in the Bellshill Area - an area which includes the PPA areas of Viewpark and Orbiston.
