Agency Training Overview
playproject.org
The P.L.A.Y. Project Agency Training Program provides the tools for agencies to set up The P.L.A.Y. Project Home Consulting Model in a variety of community settings, including Early Intervention agencies, Community Mental Health agencies, and non-profits such as Easter Seals. We have trained 500 home consultants from nearly 100 agencies in 27 states and 7 coun-tries outside of the U.S. Professionals trained in our program are prepared to teach parents and other professionals play-based approaches that are effective in helping children with autistic spectrum disorders reach their potential.
Agency Training Includes
The Intensive Training Retreat

implement The P.L.A.Y. Project Home Consulting Model.
Video Supervision and Certification
For one year, Dr. Solomon and his team of highly trained
reviewers supervise trainee progress by reviewing vid-
eos of their work with families. Successful completion of
submissions leads to certification in the model.
Licensing
For those agencies interested in using The P.L.A.Y. Pro-
ject name and model.
The agency training was a wonderful education on the DIR levels and practical information on setting up and functioning
as a P.L.A.Y. Project agency. The information was well organized and I felt like I was ready to implement the program
when I returned to my community. —Betsy Furler, Texas
This was the most engaging and user-friendly training I
have ever attended! I left this training knowing that I have
an approach with tactics that I can actually use.
Brooks Davis, North Carolina
Who We Train
For any school or agency’s success, we’ve found that home
consultants do best when they have an in-depth familiarity
with children’s development, an easy ability to follow the
child’s lead and play, and an ability to work supportively
with families as a coach and ally. For this reason, we train
professionals affiliated with and supported by agencies
including: psychologists, social workers, speech and lan-
guage pathologists, teachers, occupational therapists, etc.
