After GATE ?????? What ? There are two options

1. IES Exam *****

2. PSUs Exam***

*****For IES***** ***For Conventional***

1. Prepare rigorously 2 to 3 subject of each paper for conventional

*Subject priority list for conventional*

Paper-1 Paper-2 1. FM/FMachine 1. SOM

2. HMT 2. Prod/E.Materials

3. Power Plant 3. Industrial

4. Vibrations

***For Objective***

1. Prepare all subjects all topics

2. Focus on theoretical and formula based questions. No need to solve

lengthy numerical problems of previous GATE papers. Main focus will

be on IES previous and IAS previous questions. I have given 12000

objective questions with answer. If you haven’t taken yet collect it from

classmate.

*Subject priority list for Objective*

Paper-1 Paper-2

1. FM/FMachine 1. SOM

2. Thermodynamics 2. Prod/E.Materials

3. HMT 3. Industrial

4. Power Plant 4. TOM

5. RAC 5. Design

6. IC 6. Computer

***About conventional papers***

Step-I: First read the instruction which is in the question paper and be clear

about how many questions have to answer.

Step-II: Read the questions carefully and understand clearly what examiner

wants.

Step-III: Start answering with easiest question. But remember all parts of the

question should be answer in one place means if question no 5 has three parts (a),

(b) and (c). In your Answer sheet first mark 5/(a), 5/(b) and 5/(c) with different

pages assuming that you need that much space to answer that part of the

question. Now you are free to answer 5/(c) first that you find easiest in the paper.

Step-IV: After answering 5/(c) you find that next easiest question is 9/(b). Repeat

step-III and answer 9(b) in that way you proceed.

Step-V: After 2.45 hr. In the middle of all blank pages write P. T. O

Step-VI: for 5 to 10 marks question you don’t need the formula derivation. Do the

formula derivation if a mark for the question is more than 10

Step-VII: Write the meaning of all the symbols used. e.g Mass (m) = 10 kg.

Velocity (v) = 25 m/s etc.

Step-VIII: Write whatever you know about the question. Remember there is part

marking if you write something they will give you some marks

******For PSU Exam******

1. Prepare non-tech rigorously (GS, Aptitude, English) –very high priority for

PSUs.

2. Write down all formula of mechanical engineering (there are about 750

formulae in mechanical)—repeat it weekly.

3. Practice IES, IAS, GATE previous questions (Only theoretical type and

Formula based) - - No need to practice numerical type.
