International MBAA world of change. A world of opportunities
At IE Business School, innovation is a way of life. For over three decades, we have prepared managers
and entrepreneurs for a world that is constantly changing, a world in need of leaders whose innovative
thinking turns challenges into opportunities. More than 40,000 alumni have lived the IE experience
and now hold management positions in more than 100 countries, a dense network of IE ambassadors
spanning five continents.
If I had to state what differentiates IE Business School, I would without a doubt say that it is how our
programs bring together incredibly diverse groups of students and faculty in an intensive learning experience, against
the backdrop of a major European capital city. Our learning model puts students at the center, is eminently practical
and ensures that students acquire not only the technical know-how but also the mindset and interpersonal skills that
are essential for a successful professional career. Add to this our strong ties to the business community and you have
all the ingredients for a program that optimally prepares graduates for a demanding global job market.
This is how we recreate the IE experience each day, with the work and enthusiasm of all those who form part of the
IE Business School community. It's an experience that has positioned us as an innovative and entrepreneurial school
consistently ranked among the very best in the world. A school that forms opinions. A school that makes a difference.

Developing Responsible LeadersAt IE we believe that business forms an integral part of society. Business and commerce bring people together and are therefore an
essential source of global understanding. Our programs develop socially responsible leaders who are ready to do their part to confront
pressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, and disease. Social responsibility is not a course at IE; it is part of everything
we do.
Among IE's many Centers of Excellence, the Corporate Responsibility Center (CRC), run in conjunction with PriceWaterhouseCoopers,
occupies a special place. Through the CRC, faculty, business leaders, and students focus on research, training and the dissemination of
insights in three basic areas: good governance and transparency; environment and sustainability; society and diversity. www.ie.edu/crc
IE's commitment to social responsibility led the school to establish a unit dedicated to Social Impact Management, which now plays
a pivotal role in the school´s activities and in all academic areas. www.ie.edu/sim
The IE Alumni Association created and funds the school's Chair in Corporate Ethics as a platform for research and teaching on ethical
business decision making. In addition, the school has adopted an IE Code of Ethical Conduct, the result of a joint effort by professors,
students and alumni, to govern each degree program.
Alumni AssociationThe Alumni Association fosters relations between IE
Business School graduates and acts as a networking
platform for its 40,000 alumni members in over 100
countries around the world. In combination with the
ieCommunities, an innovative set of user-driven online
platforms organized around industries, job functions,
and geographic regions, the Alumni Association
promotes life-long learning and continuous training,
ensuring the latest insights are always available to IE
graduates. alumni.ie.edu
"Both the professional and personal experience gained
during my MBA studies at IE gave me a distinct competitive
advantage over other MBAs and provided me with multiple
opportunities in a period of economic slowdown."

"A key differentiator in my MBA experience at IE was the
incredible opportunity to work on business plan
development with female entrepreneurs from Africa with
the potential to make a difference in their respective
countries. The chance to put newly acquired skills into
practice for such a rewarding cause was priceless!"

Careers Management CenterIE's Careers Management Center (CMC) is a life-long
career partner to our students and alumni. The center's
mission is to equip IE graduates with the skills and
tools to successfully manage their careers in an
increasingly competitive global talent pool. CMC staff
work with students throughout the year as part of the
curriculum and also coach students individually on
their student career goals and strategies for attaining
them.
The key event in the CMC calendar is the Annual
Careers Fair, which brings together IE students and
recruiters from around the world looking for talent.
Other activities throughout the year include company
presentations, industry round tables, peer counseling
by recent graduates, workshops, special training
sessions, mock interviews and the continuous updating
of the online job bank to help each IE graduate find
the right job. careers.ie.edu
IE was created by a group of entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. While entrepreneurship is commonly seen as an activity, at IEwe think of it as a mindset. Entrepreneurs are the quintessentialagents of change. Being an entrepreneur does not necessarilymean starting your own business, although more than 10 percentof IE graduates do just that.
Venture Lab is a single hub for all types of entrepreneurialactivities: new business projects, family business projects, corporate projects, and social projects. The Venture Lab, withthe support of Caja Madrid, a leading Spanish financial institution, promotes the development of entrepreneurs by providingstudents with an opportunity during the Electives Periods toturn their dreams and passions into real business projects.
More than two hundred tutors support student teams as theirwork passes multiple milestones all the way to the Venture Day,the culmination of many months of work when the best teamsget a chance to present their projects to groups of angel investorand entrepreneurs.
IE Business School: Innovation & Entrepreneurship
"Attending IE was mainly motivated by the strength
the school has demonstrated in all Entrepreneurship
related aspects. I decided to focus on the V-Lab, which
gave me the chance to implement what I had
learned throughout the year, not only in technical
terms but also from a strategical and analytical
perspective. The V-Lab project was indeed one of the
best decisions I could have made, providing me with
an inspiring, enlightening and dynamic experience."

The International MBA at IE Business School is a complete learning experience that prepares
leaders for a changing world. Through rigorous training in the art of management, careful
development of interpersonal skills and an immersion in an incredibly diverse international
environment, the program cultivates responsible and conscientious cosmopolitan business
managers and entrepreneurs.
Composed of both renowned thought leaders and experienced practitioners, our world-class
faculty familiarizes participants with cutting-edge knowledge and techniques in all functional
areas of management.
Getting started
IE offers introductory, intensive Spanish classes prior to the start of the
program that help students advance their knowledge of the world's
second most important business language and ease into their new life
in Madrid.
Pre-program
Quantitative Methods and Financial Accounting are offered either online
or on campus for those students with limited quantitative training or
those wishing to brush up on their math skills.
Orientation Days
An opportunity to meet new classmates in a relaxed atmosphere and to
explore IE and Madrid. A series of cultural seminars, workshops, and
activities breaks the ice and gets everybody ready for the program start.
Teaching methodology
Almost all IE classes rely on the case method to drive the learning experience,
though professors also frequently use other techniques, such as role playing,
multimedia applications, and online business simulations. IE classes are
not abstract or focused on theory. Instead, participants learn concepts,
tools and theoretical foundations of management through the examination
of real companies in the real world. Students are assigned to small work
groups designed to maximize diversity in which they discuss and prepare
cases and complete assignments.
Curriculum
The IE International MBA curriculum, which was named the “most
innovative curriculum” of any international MBA program by BusinessWeek
in November 2008, combines proven techniques with cutting-edge
insights. Each of the three core periods is preceded by a short “change
module” that progressively transforms participants into genuine leaders
and agents of change.

"Having lived in cosmopolitan cities on opposite sides of the globe, I thought
I knew something about working with people from different cultures. After
coming to Madrid I discovered that I had only scratched the surface. The
international diversity I have found at IE has made me realise that the world
is bigger than I thought, but I am confident that I will leave IE with friends
and contacts in nearly every part of the globe, which is a great advantage."
