Applications are invited by the Director, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical

Education and Research, Puducherry-605 006 from eligible candidates for the following categories of

post on Contract Basis initially for a period of Six Months:-

1. Assistant Professor for the department ofNeurology 01 post2. Assistant Professor for the department ofCardiology 01 post3. Assistant Professor for the department ofHematology 01 post4. Assistant Professor for the departmentofNeonatology 01 post5. Assistant Professor for the department ofClinical Pharmacology 01 postAge Limit: Not exceeding 50 yearsas on closing date.

SALARY : Rs.95,000/-per month (Consolidated).

MODE OF SELECTION: Personal Interview

Essential Qualification for the post of Assistant Professor:

i. A Medical qualification included in the I or II Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to theIndian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II or

third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.

ii. A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD or MS or a recognized qualification equivalent theretoin the respective discipline or subject; and/or

iii. D.M. in respective discipline or subject for Medical super-specialties and M.Ch. in respectivediscipline or subject for surgical super-specialties (two years or three years or five years

recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto

EXPERIENCE:

For Super Specialty disciplines:-

D.M in the respective discipline or subject for Medical Super Specialties and M.

Ch in the respective discipline or subject for Surgical Super Specialties (two or three

years or five years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

One year teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in the

subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. or M.Ch. (two years or five

years recognized course after MBBS) or a qualifying recognized equivalent thereto.

However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing three years recognized

degree of D.M. or M.Ch. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

For Broad Specialty disciplines:-

Three years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in the

subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D or M.S or a qualification

recognized equivalent thereto.

Note: Postgraduate degree i.e. DMpossessed by the candidate must be recognized by the

Medical Council of India (MCI).

2. LECTURER (Obstetrics & Gynecological)for College of Nursing: - 1 Post

Essential:

Masters Degree in Nursing in Obstetrics & Gynaecologyfrom a recognized University

or equivalent with post PG teaching experience of 3 years.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years as on closing date. (Relaxable by 5 years for Government

Servant as per Central Government Rules)

MODE OF SELECTION: Written Test / Personal interview or both (in case more no. of

applications, a screening test consisting of MCQs will be held). However, the details will be

published in the JIPMER Web site (www.jipmer.edu.in)by 03.02.2014.

Salary : Rs.37,500/-per month (Consolidated)

MODE OF SELECTION: Written Test or Personal Interview or both.

7. All educational Certificates from SSLC (attested photocopy is to be submitted along with otherrelevant documents& experience certificates) are to be submitted with the application and mustproduce in originals at the time of interview, if called for the same. Failure to produce these may

result in not interviewing the candidate.

9. Maximum age limit will be taken into account as on the closing date mentioned for receipt ofapplications.

10.Mere fulfilling the conditions does not guarantee that the applicant will be short listed for interview.11.In case the Scrutiny Committee recommends restricting the number of candidates to be called for
