Learning Objectives Participants will be able to:1) Explain how psychodynamic theory can be

applied to enhance understanding in the diagno-sis and treatment of psychotherapy patients.

2) Describe how psychodynamic therapy is different from other approaches to treating patients with long-standing personal and interpersonal issues.

3) Demonstrate ways that case formulation from a psychodynamic standpoint enhances understand-ing of human psychological functioning.

4) Analyze clinical case material from a psychody-namic perspective and contrast with other commonly used theoretical views.

5) Use psychodynamic technique effectively in treatment of patients.

What our graduates say:

“ A very stimulating and well put-together course with excellent instructors” …

“I particularly liked the way this course followed the development of analytic thinking from Freud through more contemporary approaches like self psychology or intersubjectivity”…

“I liked having a variety of instructors; it added richness to the instruction” …

“I have begun to use the transference in my work. Also, I have more twice-a-week patients than ever before.”
