SVDP Outreach Corner

The SVDP outreach continues its annual “Back to School Backpack Program” for clients in need. As in years past, we invite the Parish to participate. All dona-tions must be received by July 28. Items to donate are listed on the flier posted on the Bulletin Board at the Church entrance and at the Outreach office. Basic school supplies and backpacks (no Blue or Red) will be collected at all Masses through the end of July. Those interested in receiving a backpack must register at the SVDP Outreach Office. This includes our current clients and any new clients. If you are a family in need of back-packs and school supplies for your children, please call the outreach office @ 408 378-8086 to schedule an in-terview. Welcome Hola! My name is Patty Osorio and I've been blessed with the mission of being the new Youth Minister here at St. Lucy. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I've been a member of this Diocese for 21 years now. I graduated from De Anza College and I'm working on a degree in business administration. Going through the RCIA program I became very involved with the Church. I have pastoral experience in liturgy and catechetics from St. Joseph Cathedral Basilica where I volunteered for eleven years. I helped out with RCIA and confirmation classes and started a Spanish choir, but my focus these past ten years has been with the young adult ministry. I served two terms as Secretary of the Consejo Pastoral Juvenil of the Diocese. My pre-vious job was at the Chancery where I was the administrative assistant for the Institute for Leadership in Min-istry. I'm very excited to work with the youth and look forward to meeting you all. If you'd like to volunteer with the Youth please contact me, my door is always open. I'd like to thank you for the warm welcome I've received and ask that you keep me and the youth ministry in your prayers.

Oficina del Servicios Sociales/SVDP

La Oficina de Servicios Sociales/SVDP continúa su progra-ma anual de "Mochilas Para el Regreso a la Escuela" para sus clientes que lo necesiten. Como en años anteriores, invitamos a la parroquia que participen. Todas las donacio-nes deben ser recibidas antes del 28 de julio. Una lista de los artículos que necesitamos se encuentra en el volante en el tablón de anuncios en la entrada de la iglesia y en la oficina de servicios sociales. Hola! Mi nombre es Patty Osorio y tengo el gran gusto de ser bendecida con la misión de servir como el nuevo Ministro de la Juventud aquí en Santa Lucía. Me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para presentarme. He sido miembro de esta diócesis por 21 años. Me gradué de De Anza College y estoy estudiando para recibir en un título en administración de empresas. Después de completar el programa de RICA, decidí servir en la Iglesia. Por medio de este servicio, obtuve experiencia pastoral en la liturgia y la catequesis en la Catedral Basílica de San José donde serví durante once años. También, ayudé con clases de RICA y de confirmación y organice un coro en español, pero mi enfoque estos últimos diez años ha estado con el ministerio de jóvenes adultos. Serví dos mandatos como Secretario del Consejo de Pastoral Juvenil de la Diócesis. Mi último trabajo fue en la Diócesis, donde yo era el asistente administrativo para el Instituto de Liderazgo Ministerial. Estoy muy emocionada de trabajar con los jóvenes y de conocerlos a todos. Si desea ser voluntario con la juventud, por favor póngase en contacto conmigo, mi puerta está siempre abierta. Me gustaría darle las gracias por la cálida bienvenida que he recibido y pedirles mantenga el ministerio de la juventud en sus oraciones.
