Admirable Qualities Objective: 1. Participants will be able to give and receive feedback about personal strengths 2. Participants will build self-awareness and communication skills. Materials: Paper, pencils, tape Time: 20 minutes Instructions: 1. Explain to the participants that they each have many admirable qualities or strengths. Sometimes we do not see these qualities ourselves but they are seen by others. This activity will reveal the participants’ admirable qualities to make them feel good about themselves. 2. Have the participants write their names at the top of a sheet of paper. Then have each participant tape the sheet of paper onto his or her back. The participants will then walk around the room and select a partner. When they have selected a partner, they are to write something positive about that person on the paper attached to that person’s back.  3. After the participants have identified five strengths they have, have them select one about which they feel the strongest. Each participant is asked to explain the reasons why they have chosen this strength. Discussion: Content Questions 1. What do you think is the objective of this activity? 2. What types of feelings does this activity aim to develop? Why? 3. Did your friends see qualities in you tha t you didn’t think you had? Why didn’t  you see all of your own qualities? 4. Which is easier/more difficult, recognizing your own qualities or recognizing the qualities of others? Personalization Questions 1. What do you think are your personal strengths and weaknesses? 2. How do you know that these are strengths or weaknesses? 3. If a friend points out your faults, how would you feel? What would you do then? 4. Are you able to tell your friends about their strengths and weaknesses? (How would you go about telling them? Facilitator Notes: This activity may then be followed by the “Jigsaw” activity to show how individual  strengths build group strength \
