10 Frame Addition
Student rolls cube and fills in the ten
frame with the number rolled.
The student uses the information from
the ten frame to form an addition
problem using the addend from the cube
and supplying the missing addend.
Cover number cubes with contact paper.
Put together using clear tape. Each
student will need a number cube and an
activity sheet.

Shaking AdditionEach student will need 10 manipulativesthat are a different color on each side. Ifyou do not have these you can use beansthat have been spray painted on one side.Student puts the 10 manipulatives in acup. They shake and pour, then separatethe two colors. They write the number ofeach color in the two circles. They thenuse the numbers to write a number sen-tence that equals 10.

Spinning Addition Facts
The student spins the spinner and writes the
number for the first addend.
The students then spins the spinner again and
writes that number for the second addend.
The students solves the addition problem.
Copy spinners on vellum (tag board). I like to back
my spinners with cardboard. Cover with contactpaper or laminate. Using scissors carefully put a
hole in the center of the spinner. On a brad put a
pony bead and jumbo paper clip. Thread brad in-
to the spinner. I put a piece of tape over the
brad in the back. Each student needs a spinnerand activity sheet.
