BARE CLAUSE COLLECTIVE ADAMSAJAK . COM THE . ADAMSAJAK @ GMAIL . COM Release date: 6/30/15 ……..Self-Released…….. Track Listing: 1. XO 2. (un)well 3. party 4. present 5. fire 6. too long to wait 7. yes/no 8. as usual Quaint but neurotic, poised but volatile, straight forward & definitely queer. If you’re looking for a sprig loaded with contradiction; it sprung in AA$’s debut oh, well. Distorted, heavy-mouthed, and poetically conversational, oh well, aims to tell the story of blurry-eyed denial & long-awaited hope. Throughout the album, Adam Sajak, the main mind & body behind AA$, treats the audience as if it’s not there. He creates a closed conversation of open dialogue, an honest plea to be heard that could leave soft-punkers with lock jaw, freak-folkers feeling confused & blue, and alterna-kids anxious & sweaty. oh, well lives in the mind. With thick layers of background texture, fuzzy guitar riffs & a neo- ukulele twang, fronted by venomous lyrics & haunting vocal performances by Adam Sajak and guest vocalist Harley Altaville, AA$ created a deadly concoction from everything you’d find in that junk drawer. To put it another way, oh, well, is for the fetal-position rockers, the heavy-stomached, the skinned, the gutted. Those who know what it feels like to have a body left immobile and distraught, wondering what’s next, and reminiscing on how you got there. It is nostalgia of a burning kind; smothered at the bottom of the well. Despite the dark premise behind the work of AA$, the songs leap back and forth across the yellow divide between “hopeless & “hopeful.” Here is an album that hides optimism with self-indulgent smoke and mirrors. This is the genius of Boulder, CO’s AA$.
