Activities to support
learning the verb “to be” K-
Grade 2.
The Verb To Be By Yara at Sea of Knowledge (ESL World)
Directions
This pack can be used in several ways. Print and laminate the comic page and have each group of students read through it before handing out the activities – or read as a class and print the black and white version. 1. Allow the students some time to complete the worksheets and then mark them as a class. For a varied activity, have the students swap papers and let their partners mark their work. 2. Students cut and paste a ‘pop up’ comic of their own in the last activity. 3. Cut out each square from the comic given, you can also laminate this, let the students rearrange the cards to complete the story in order. The letters on the cards have been placed so that discussion and review can be easier so students know which card you’re referring to. (They do not indicate the order by letter.)
