ACT Prep Audience: 9th — 11th GradeDeliverables: Students will be able to: Know the different sections of the ACT Have knowledge of tips for taking the ACT both day of AND beforeBrief Summary: This workshop gives a brief outline of the ACT for students. It breaks down the test into different sections while giving valuable information on how to prepare and take the test.

College Admissions 101 Audience: 9th — 11th gradeDeliverables: Students will be able to: Have a basic understanding of the factors that create college fit. (size, cost, majors ect…) Have questions to ask an admissions counselor at a college fair How to narrow down a college list. Brief Summary: This workshop gives a “101” view of the college admissions process. Covers what Wisconsin schools requires for admissions, and other helpful tips students should remember when starting/actively applying to colleges.

Financial Aid 101Audience: Parents, Juniors and SeniorsDeliverables: Students will be able to: Know the different types of AID Know specific UWM financial aid information Know where to find scholarships Brief Summary: This is a basic outline of financial aid both for college in general but also specific to UWM. The presentation uses UWM as an example for the college financial aid process.

Email and Social Media Etiquette Audience: 8th grade through 12th grade Deliverables:

Students will be able to Know how to reach out to a professor in a professional way Understand the importance of clean social media Brief Summary: Brief training that talks about the importance of professionalism when it comes to the student and professor relationship. In addition, the importance of clean social media and professional sounding email addresses. Also examples of how students can use social media during the admissions process – virtual tours, contacting admissions offices, getting in touch with other admitted students, etc.

College Essay Prep Audience: 9th- 12th grade Deliverables: Students will be able to: Conceptualize different college essay possibilities Basic tips on how to write a college essay Brief Summary: This is a step by step process of what to consider when writing a college essay. It gives practical tips and experience integrated within the training.

College Planning 101 Audience: 9th – 12th grade Deliverables: Students will be able to: Understand the importance of Junior Year Basic Outline of the College admission processBrief Summary: Presentation provides general college planning information. Depending on the grade you are presenting to, can cater to different topics (freshman – major exploration, sophomores – college/campus exploration, juniors – prep for admissions, seniors – application process and next steps)

College Options in Wisconsin Audience: 9th – 12th gradeDeliverables: Students will be able to Start exploring different college options in Wisconsin Learn more about UW System, Private colleges, tech collegesBrief Summary: This presentation explores all college options in Wisconsin, with the differences between institutions, what is offered at each, tuition, housing options, extracurricular overviews. Students will be given examples of each type of institution and gain a better sense of what is best fit.

UW-Milwaukee General Presentation

Audience: 9th – 12th gradeDeliverables: Students will learn More about UW-Milwaukee as an institution and campus Admissions information and how to apply Academics, student life, housing information, etc.Brief Summary:Learn more about UW-Milwaukee and what our institution has to offer! Learn about UW-Milwaukee’s academics, research opportunities, clubs and organizations and student life.
