Access and UpgradingIf you need to complete a few courses or improve your grades from a course you took earlier, CNC’s tuition-free Academic Upgrading courses can help you. With upgrading, you can meet the prerequisites for other college courses and programs, or obtain a BC Adult Graduation Diploma (formerly known as an Adult Dogwood). Academic Upgrading courses are also part of CNC’s Access Programs that offer guaranteed admission of advanced standing into certain programs. You will get one foot already in the door.

University Studies CNC’s University Studies offers a high-quality, affordable way to get your degree started. Learn in small classes with instructors focused on your success. University Studies is a system that lets you take up to 60 credits at CNC, and then transfer those credits. CNC has transfer partnerships with all public universities, colleges and institutes across British Columbia. So, when you finish your degree, you graduate from the institution you transferred to.

CNC offers 92 rooms in our original campus housing building, focused on supporting students in a comfortable setting close to their classes. We are also pleased to welcome Indigenous students in a new campus housing building. It offers 12 rooms with shared kitchen, living, washroom and laundry facilities. The new building will include a suite for an Elder who will serve as a role model and support for students.

Campus Housing accommodates students in programs of varying length, with varying needs in both buildings. For additional information about living on campus or for housing rates, please refer to the Community Standards Handbook. We recommend applying early for housing.

1 – Find your program• View our programs and courses online.

• If you are a current high school student interested in Career Technical Center (CTC) or Dual Credit admission, please speak with a counsellor at your high school and then email [email protected] for information on next steps.

• Any questions about our programs can be directed to the recruitment team. Full contact information is found at the back of this book.

2 – Apply• Apply online.

• Domestic student application fees are $40.

• For fall start dates, it is recommended to apply before March 31st* of the same year if the program has a selection process. Programs with available space often accept late applications.

3 – Submit Documentation

After applying, the Office of the Registrar will contact you with information on next steps.

• Submit supporting documents; depending on your program these could be transcripts, resumes, or handwritten statements. Most CNC programs require students to submit a high school transcript. For most programs all supporting documents must be received by April 30.

• Some programs require an application package. Application packages are found on their respective program pages.

• You will hear from us when you are accepted.

4 – Plan for Life at CNC

• Come explore our campus by signing up for student for a day, booking a campus tour or attending one of our open houses.

• Register for classes online through CNC Connect or in person at your campus. If applicable to your program, pay your seat deposit when you register to secure your seat.

• Come to orientation on your first day - it’s a great way to meet your classmates and become familiar with the college.

• Get your student card from the Office of the Registrar on your campus. Your student card acts as your UPass and your library card, and will get you discounts at certain businesses.
