AWARDS CRITERIA – SURVIVING AND INSPIRING This year we are switching the focus of our Airport Awards to reflect and recognise the many ways in which airports are not only surviving, but also innovating and inspiring during the COVID-19 crisis by introducing new technologies and processes which will endure likely permanently benefit the passenger experience. Airports are divided into five categories according to 2019 passenger traffic (Under 5 Million, 5-10 Million, 10-25 Million, 25- 40 Million, Over 40 Million) and will be judged on excellence and achievement through the current crisis in the following areas of operational, health and safety, and commercial management: • Contactless passenger experience • Biosecurity • Corporate restructuring and recovery (note: the separate HR Excellence Award covers C-19 measures; airports can enter both) The Awards Criteria provide entrants with a guideline on the criteria that the judging panel will appraise. In all areas you need to provide evidence to support your application. The total number of additional documents, videos etc must not exceed 10 and we ask that you provide an appendix clearly labelling each item. Your Award Application itself should not exceed 1,000 words (excluding appendices). This Awards Criteria is only a guide. You do not have to address each category individually and you may choose to focus on one area of excellence. Each application should be submitted in electronic format together with a completed online entry registration and €500 administration fee.
