ACE PLUS Program Handbook Guidelines

Dropping & Adding Classes Always inform the ACE staff when

you have decided to drop or add a class.

Making class changes after the semester has begun is risky. You class of choice may be full and/or you choices may be limited

A result of not communicating with the ACE office when dropping and adding classes may inevitably result in a permanent “F” on your transcripts as well as repaying the ACE Program for your tuition cost.

Textbooks Student and/ or parents

are responsible for textbooks cost. If you are having trouble obtaining a textbook contact the ACE staff immediately.

Students who attend class without a book may be withdrawn from the course.

CGCC LibraryThe CGCC library is a resource that should be used diligently. If you are having trouble obtaining a textbook many teachers will reserve a copy for their students to use in the library. The reserved course textbook in

the library is not a permanent solution for not obtaining a textbook. The reserve can only be checkout for 2 hours per person.

Absences & Tardiness The average professor automatically drops a student with 2 or 3 absences. Being dropped will result in a

“W”- drop passing, or “Y”– drop failing. A “Y” is the same as receiving an “F”. In the event of an emergency immediately contact your instructor and the ACE staff to keep us abreast of your

situation. If you know in advance you will be absent from class, inform your instructor immediately to find out what

you will miss. Summer school attendance is crucial due to the condensed time: missing 1 class = missing 1 week Fall and Spring attendance is equally crucial, missing one class = missing two classes.
