“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Calling the nation to prayer

June 2010

In January 2008, the Lord spoke to me about a political storm that was coming to this nation. On 5 June 2008, I brought this matter to parliament for members of parliament to also be informed about dark clouds that are gathering around us. This is what I said in parliament:

“At the beginning of this year, I warned many people that a storm was coming to this nation. This storm would be in three parts. We’ve already had a xenophobic storm, we are going into an economic storm and then there will be a political storm.

It is because of the political storm that is still ahead of us, that I want to appeal to Church leaders in this nation to call for a National Day of Prayer and Repentance.

South Africa urgently and desperately needs God’s intervention. We have sinned against one another, against foreign nationals and against God, the Almighty.

We have become a nation that rapes her children and burns people alive, as recently happened to foreign nationals in the xenophobic attacks. It cannot be business as usual. Our nation is in danger, hence my appeal to Church leaders to call for a National Day of Prayer and Repentance. Those who are asleep must wake up and those who have buried their heads in the sand and have chosen to live in denial of the reality around them must be warned that dark clouds are gathering around them.

On 7 June 2008, the statement I made in parliament was reported in the “The Citizen Weekend Edition” with the headlines “Violent Storms Brewing in SA”. (see page 2)

The Citizen Weekend Edition, 7 June 2008

The Lord has raised up many voices to warn our nation of the eminent danger ahead of us. I think the period between June and November 2010 is very critical for the peaceful future of this country and should therefore be saturated with prayer, fasting and repentance from our wicked ways as a nation. Idolatry, immorality, greed, selfishness, apathy and corruption in this nation have caused many Christians to lose their focus on the uniqueness and holiness of Christ and to go after foreign gods. We must humble ourselves and repent before God, and ask Him for mercy to avert His judgment.

I received a copy of a prophecy the Lord gave to Kathleen De la Hunt at 2am on the 14th May 2010 from the ACDP deputy President. As the prophetic word confirms what the Lord has said to me and other intercessors and prophets, I will only quote a small part of what the Lord said to her:

“Rise up and pray, intercede for the land. There are those who are working hard to cause destruction.Outside forces and foreigners are working with wicked men to bring chaos and destruction in the land. A rebellious spirit is waiting to be released in a greater measure, and if it is, it will cause destruction that will take many years to rebuild.

Arrogant men with calloused hearts are being used to bring forth disaster. These people have no concern for anything or anyone, but their own power and greed, and they are being used by the enemy.

Pray for them to be revealed, call into the light what is operating in the dark. Rise up and pray.”

May I appeal to you dear reader to please pray for this nation to come back to God! This is the time to watch and pray without ceasing. Pray for your protection, and that of your family and loved ones. Choose a day or two per week to fast and seek God’s face for this nation, particularly between June and November 2010, which is the period I think a violent political storm is going to ‘hit’ this country.

We all need divine protection because many lives will be lost when the storm is upon us. Those who do not take this warning seriously will have nobody to blame, but themselves. Please pray and intercede for your family and this country.

Joel 2:5-17 says: “Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly, bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her chamber. Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the temple porch and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, O Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the people, “Where is their God?”

Indeed, God wants to heal our land, prosper us and make us a model and light to the nations. Before He does it, we must first seek the counsel given in II Chronicles 7:14. If we are willing, we will not only eat the good of the land, but we will also experience the greatest revival that has ever come to the continent of Africa.

Please join me in praying for the peaceand security of our beautiful nation.REV. KENNETH MESHOE MP
