SLS FOR HOME-BASED LEARNING (HBL) The SLS is an online platform with tools and curriculum-aligned resources for all students to learn at their own pace and collaboratively. With the SLS, students can take greater ownership of their learning and pick up skills and habits that prepare them for lifelong learning. Teachers will also use the SLS to complement classroom teaching and learning. OPERATING SYSTEM AND BROWSWER REQUIREMENTS The Student Learning Space (SLS) is accessible through internet browsers on either Windows PC, Mac, iPad or Android tablets. For a good user experience, tablets should have a screen size of at least 7 inches. The recommended operating systems and browsers are: Operating System Browser

ACCESS TO SLS 1) SLS can be accessed from https://learning.moe.edu.sg or from our school
website https://dunmansec.moe.edu.sg/our-student-life/learning-portals

Please note that the password must contain alphanumeric characters and is case-sensitive. It should: a. be 8 characters or longer; b. contain at least 1 letter and 1 number; and c. be changed every year (you will be directed to the change password page
automatically)

SET PASSWORD RESET EMAIL ADDRESS You should set a password reset email address in your profile. This will allow you to reset your password through a password reset link if you forget it. To set your password reset email address:
1) On the top right corner of any SLS page, click on the button followed by selecting Edit Profile.
2) On the Edit Profile page, click the Email Address tab. 3) In the "Email Address" field, enter your email address. 4) Click Save.

5) An email with a verification code will be sent to your email address.
6) Enter the verification code into the pop-up box.
7) Once verification is successful, a message will appear at the header. The verified email address will also be displayed in the "Email Address" field in subsequent logins. Note: You must verify the email address before you can use it to reset your password. While it is not a must to enter an email address, as this is the easiest and fastest method to reset your SLS password should you forget what it is. A notification will appear to remind you each time you log in if an email has not been entered and verified.

PASSWORD RESET If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it via the following methods: A) password reset using password reset link, B) password reset using security questions, C) contact SLS Support.
(A) Password Reset using Password Reset Link 1) Perform the following steps to reset password using Password Reset Link
Method:
a) Click the “Forgot Password” link at the login page (refer to Fig. 2a).

b) You will need to enter your username (refer to Fig. 2b).

c) Select “Send a password reset link to your email” and click Submit (refer to Fig. 2c).

d) An email with the password reset link will be sent to your email address (refer to Fig. 2d). Click the reset password link in the email to bring you to the Reset Password Page. The link is valid for 20 minutes.

e) In the Reset Password page, enter a new password (refer to Fig. 2e). You will need to enter the new password twice to confirm that you have entered it correctly. Then click Submit.

f) If your password was successfully reset, you will be brought to the SLS login page.

(B) Password Reset Using Security Questions
1) Perform the following steps to reset password by using Security Questions:
a) Click the “Forgot Password” button at the login page (refer to Fig. 3a).

d) In the “Security Questions” page, key in the answers to the security questions (refer to Fig. 3d). Please note that the answers are case-sensitive. Click Submit.

e) If you have answered the security questions correctly, you will be brought
to the Reset Password page (refer to Fig. 3e). You will need to enter the new password twice to confirm that you have entered it correctly. Then click Submit.

g) If you have answered the questions incorrectly, you will be brought to the Password Reset Unsuccessful page (refer to Fig. 3f). Click on the Retry button to try again. You can attempt this up to 6 times before your account is locked for security reasons.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1 : I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
Please refer to page 5.
Q2 : I have forgotten my username. What should I do?
The format of your user name is a combination of the first 5 characters of your Name, the last 4 digits and the letter of your NRIC/FIN/BC, e.g. (RACHE1234Z).
In rare cases, two or more students might share the same 10 characters. In such cases, their username may be affixed with a number, e.g. (RACHE1234Z_01).
If you are still not sure of your username, please approach your teacher.
Q3 : My account has been locked. What should I do?
Your account will be locked after 6 consecutive attempts to log in with an incorrect password.

Q4 : I used the “Password Reset Link Method” but I cannot find my password reset email. What can I do?
If you cannot see the email in your inbox, it may be in the spam or junk email folder.
Note: The URL in the email will expire within 20 minutes. If the URL has expired, go to the login page and select "Forgot Password" to try again.
Q5 : What are the Operating System and Browser Requirements for SLS?
The following are the recommended operating systems:
● Windows laptop/desktop with Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 and later ● Apple laptop/desktop with Mac OS X 10.9 and later ● iPad with iOS 8 and later ● Android tablet with Android 5 and later
SLS is accessible through the latest internet browsers (minimum: Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome 51, FireFox 51 or Safari 7.1).
Q6 : Can SLS run on mobile phones?
You can access SLS from internet browsers installed on your mobile phones or equivalent devices. However, the system is currently not optimised for use on these devices.

ACCESSING HBL MATERIALS
1) In the sidebar on the left, click the Home button
Your current assignments will be displayed in 1 of 3 columns.
Assigned - Assignments that you have not opened. In Progress - Assignments that you have started, but not yet completed. Completed - Assignments that you have completed.
o Completed assignments will remain in this column until: § 7 days past the due date (if the assignment has a due
date) § The end of the day (11.59 pm) of the assignment start
date (if the assignment has no due date) o To view the rest of your completed assignments, you will
need to access them through the class space. 2) Once you access an assignment, you will be brought to the cover page. You
can begin the Assignment by clicking the Start button.
You will be brought to the first activity in the assignment.

3) An assignment is made up of one or more activities. In the navigation bar on the right, you can see the list of activities.
The current activity is highlighted. You can click on any activity in the list to be brought to that activity. Alternatively, you can use the up and down arrow keys to move between activities.
4) When you begin an activity, the page icon will not be shaded. It will become shaded when you complete the activity. If an activity includes a quiz, you must submit the quiz in order to complete the activity. If an activity contains questions, you must submit your responses to all the questions in order to complete the activity. You must complete all the activities in a lesson in order to complete the lesson.
