About the event

We welcome you in Lyon, from 7th to 9th October 2020, at Marriott Lyon Cité Internationale

This year, AVICENNE Team will be much more involved in the management of the event.

The Batteries Event will cover all aspects of the battery circular economy, beginning from the

production of the battery through raw materials, battery manufacturing, battery use and safety,

management and applications, going through market trends, research and development, new

technologies and finally closing the loop with a focus recycling, second life and regulations.

International battery industry key players such as OEM, battery manufacturers, end users, experts,

researchers and recyclers will come together to discuss and exchange on new chemistries,

manufacturing process, battery components, battery second life, recycling, producer regulatory

obligations in Europe, future expectations and innovations.

22 years ago, we launched our first event, Batteries 1999. At that time, Nokia 3310 and StarTacphone were the best sellers.

What happened in the last 20 years?

The Li-ion battery market increased from 2 GWh to almost 200 GWh!

In value, the market for batteries and their components has experienced a strong double-digit growth and several positive factors ensure the fast-growing evolution of the market.

What ambition for 2020?

Avicenne Energy is fully committed to entering a new era! We’ve chosen a new destination for our2020 Batteries Event, one of the most dynamic European area. Our ambition is to be a world reference event, which brings together all the players in the sector, and the meeting place of technologies (lead acid, NiMH, Li-ion, Post Li-ion), applications (from micro batteries to large format batteries) and of the value chain (chemists OEMs and end users)...

3 days to inspire, learn, understand, inform and share. Our wish is to bring together at least 250 people from across the industry (researchers, raw material suppliers, components, manufacturers, consultants, intellectuals ...).

We plan +50 selected speakers, thematic conferences and workshops, 20 to 25 exhibitors, qualitynetworking moments and friendliness !

Lyon, European Capital of Smart Tourism 2019

MARRIOTT HOTEL at The “Cité internationale”

It is a recent district in the city of Lyon. It was built from 1992 to 1999 by the architect Renzo

Piano and the landscaper Michel Corajoud.

The complex is built around an indoor semi-covered pedestrian street. It is located between a loop of the Rhône and the “Parc de la Tête d’Or”. It occupies the space of the old Lyon fair. It’s a tertiary, cultural and tourist hub comprising offices, conference rooms, hotels, a casino, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lyon, cinemas and an auditorium.

The site also hosts Interpol’s world headquarters.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONSART. 1 - GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The sponsor orexhibitor is willing to accept with no reserve the terms of the presentrules and regulations of AVICENNE DEVELOPPEMENT and theprovisions of public law applicable to events organized in France.They shall accept all new measures generated by circumstance or forthe event benefit that the organizer reserves the right to indicate,even orally.ART. 2 – ADMISSIONS: The reservation requests signed by theexhibitor will not be valid unless drawn up on the official reservationforms provided by AVICENNE DEVELOPPEMENT.The reservation forms should be sent by email to:[email protected] applications will be submitted to the Organizing CommitteeBatteries Event 2020 who will decide on the outcome afterexamination. In case of refusal, the organizing committee BatteriesEvent 2020 will not have to justify the decision notified to theapplicant. In no case whatsoever will the applicant have the right torequest compensation for refusal on grounds that he was invited toapply by the Organizing Committee Batteries Event 2020.ART. 3 – PAYMENT: all reservations will require a depositrepresenting 50 % of the total reservation fees, tax included.The difference must be paid 30 days after invoicing date.For any reservation made after 30/07/2020, the total reservation feeis due on reservation. In accordance with the deadlines of the ruleshere above and payment deadlines law, any delay in payment willgive rise to the automatic application of late payment charges whoserates amount to 1,5 times the legal interest rate.ART. 4 - CANCELLATION: If the stand is not entirely paid for prior tothe beginning of the conference, the Organizing Committee will notbe liable to refund the amounts already paid. In case of cancellationby an exhibitor prior to 30/05/2020, the organizer will retain 50% ofthe total amount of the invoice as compensation.For any cancellation request occurring from 01/06/2020 onwards, theentire amount of the invoice will be due and will be retained as acompensation for contract breach.If the entire reservation fees haven’t been paid at least 30 days priorto the date of the event, the exhibitor will not have the possibility tochoose the location of their stand. If the total reservation feeshaven’t been paid at least 15 days prior to the event, AVICENNEDEVELOPPEMENT reserves the right to refuse the exhibitor’s accessto the event.ART. 5 – SUBLEASE: the admission certificate is personal,incommunicable and inalienable. It is strictly forbidden for theexhibitors to sublease or share in return of remuneration or for free apart or their entire stand.ART. 6 – OCCUPATION OF EXHIBITION SPACES: the exhibition plan isdrawn up by the Organizing Committee Batteries Event 2020. Theallocation of spaces is made by AVICENNE DEVELOPPEMENT incollaboration with the Organizing Committee while taking intoaccount the reservations’ order of arrival. After the allocation, nochange can be made without written approval by AVICENNEDEVELOPPEMENT.AVICENNE DEVELOPPEMENT reserves the right to modify as manytimes as it deems necessary, the location, the size and the layout ofthe requested spaces by the exhibitor.

If the Organizing Committee is compelled to partially change thelayout or set ups, no claim will be acceptable and the exhibitorsundertake to abide by the decisions taken.For any dispute, only the Tribunals of Nanterre are competent. Theallocated spaces shall be occupied by the exhibitor from October07th-9th 2020; otherwise, they will be considered vacant and couldbe allocated without any compensation or refund that the failingexhibitor might request.ART. 7 – RULES AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: A technical file for theexhibitor will be sent at a later date to the company reserving astand. This file will include all the stands layout and furniture rentingrules as well as the safety regulations and information on allnecessary services (telephone, maintenance, storage, customsclearance...) the exhibitors, their employees and subcontractorsengage themselves to respect and abide by the rules of the CongressCenter and the instructions specified in the technical file.More generally, the exhibitors shall abide by the laws and regulationsapplying to fairs and exhibitions as well as the safety measuresdecreed by the Prefecture. More particularly, they shall abide by theregulations and safety instructions of the Marriott Hotel (Lyon).The exhibitors are liable for the material they exhibit as well as theone they will rent or set up at their stand.ART. 8 - EXCLUSIVITY: The reservation and rental of a stand oradvertising space compel the exhibitor not to organize or privilege,any meetings or gatherings on the conference topics that hadn’t beendeclared or authorized by the Organizing Committee.ART. 9 – DISTRIBUTION OF DOCUMENTS: distribution ofadvertisements or tracts is only permitted on the stand.ART. 10 – RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES OF THE ORGANISER: Theorganizer will have the right to decide on all unforeseen matters inthis present regulatory document. All its decisions will be taken withno possible recourse and shall be immediately implemented.Any breach of any one clause of this present document shall give riseto immediate, temporary or definitive exclusion of the failingexhibitor with no possibility for the latter to claim any refund orcompensation. The organizer shall have total freedom to decideaccordingly.This shall occur also in case of no-respect of the terms and conditionsarticle 3: the organizer will send the debtor a legal notice withacknowledgement of receipt. In case of non-payment within 15 daysby the debtor, the contract will be cancelled. The organizer shall notbe held liable for a small number of registered delegates or any lackof interest for the whole conference.ART. 11 – CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT: In case of force majeure,the dates of the conference and the exhibition could be changed orsimply cancelled. In this case the available amounts after payment ofthe expenses incurred will be shared between the exhibitors on a prorata basis with no possibility of recourse against the organizer.ART.12 – DISPUTES: In case of dispute, only the Tribunals of Nanterreare competent.
