Manners are social graces. People make themselves pleasant by observing good manners especially when talking to others, when eating a meal, when behaving in public places.

Rules tell us how to behave. Most human activities are regulated by rules. The games of football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, and even the games at recess in school have rules.
